College Football Week Seven Predictions: Spread and Straight Up

Kevin ThomasContributor IIOctober 9, 2008

Hey guys, sorry I wasn't able to make any picks last week, but my computer crashed and I wasn't able to get a new one until too late. So through six weeks of the season, I am 23-19-1 against the spread and 39-15 straight up.

Clemson at Wake Forest (-2.5)

Both teams are coming off disappointing losses. The Tigers went down to Maryland while the Deacs lost to Navy. Clemson could very well be playing for Tommy Bowden's job tonight. The Tigers have historically come out fighting when they are backed into a corner, which they certainly are.

Winner: (Spread) Clemson; (Straight Up) Clemson

East Carolina at Virginia (+5.5)

The Pirates have fallen off since their hot start and the Cavaliers are coming off a big win over Maryland. ECU will get back to it's winning ways against a weak Virginia team.

Winner: (Spread) East Carolina; (Straight Up) East Carolina

Iowa State at Baylor (-4.5)

Like I've said before, I really like Baylor's freshman QB, Robert Griffin.

Winner: (Spread) Baylor; (Straigt Up) Baylor

South Carolina at Kentucky (Pick)

The Gamecocks offense finally showed up last week against Ole Miss. The Wildcats played hard against Alabama last week, but I think they will still be beat up from that game.

Winner: (Spread) South Carolina; (Straight Up) South Carolina

Tennessee at Georgia (-12)

Tennessee has looked absolutely awful this year.

Winner: (Spread) Georgia; (Straight Up) Georgia

Bowling Green at Akron (+1)

Bowling Green already has an impressive win over Pittsburgh this season and have a good overall team.

Winner: (Spread) Bowling Green; (Straight Up) Bowling Green

Penn State at Wisconsin (+5)

The Nittany Lions have looked very good this season and are coming off a big win over Illinois. The Badgers fell short in a good game against Ohio State last week. Penn State's offense will be to much for Wisconsin.

Winner: (Spread) Penn State; (Straight Up) Penn State

Nebraska at Texas Tech (-20.5)

The Cornhuskers won't be able to score enough points to win or cover.

Winner: (Spread) Texas Tech; (Straight Up) Texas Tech

LSU at Florida (-6)

I really like LSU, but I've just got a feeling about Florida. I think behind Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin they will take care of the Tigers.

Winner: (Spread) LSU; (Straight Up) Florida

Texas at Oklahoma (Neutral Site) (-6.5)

Both teams have been very impressive so far. I think Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray will be too much for Colt McCoy and the Longhorns.

Winner: (Spread) Texas; (Straight Up) Oklahoma
