Arkansas Razorbacks: What the Arrest of LB Ross Rasner Means to the Team
Just one day before the Arkansas Razorbacks were going to take the field in the annual Red-White game, it was reported that one of their players was arrested.
ESPN reported that Linebacker Ross Rasner was arrested on alcohol and drug charges early Friday morning.
This is bad news for a Razorback team that is prepared to make a run for an SEC Championship this season. The team has to move forward, but this will be an unwanted distraction as the team prepares for the regular season.

Soon after the arrest was made public, head coach Bobby Petrino made a statement. Petrino released the statement through a team spokesman.
"Ross Rasner has been suspended indefinitely effective immediately and I am extremely disappointed in his actions," Petrino said.
This is not the first time that the Razorbacks have had a player in trouble.
In fact, Rasner has become the third player that has had a run in with the law in the last five months. Defensive lineman DeQuinta Jones and wide receiver Lance Ray were also arrested within the last five months.
College football programs never want to have any player in trouble with the law, but the suspension of Rasner could hurt the team on the field.
Rasner received snaps with the first team this year and was expected to play a big role on the team. In 2010, the 19 year old registered 27 tackles, including two quarterback sacks.
With an excellent understanding of the Razorback defense, Rasner will be missed and the Hogs will have to regroup.
