Isaiah Crowell Announcement: What It Means for Georgia Football

John SmithFeb 2, 2011

Isaiah Crowell has announced and signed his national letter of intent to play football at the University of Georgia.

Crowell is the top running back recruit in the nation and the fourth overall prospect according to ESPNU's Top 150. Scout and Rivals both list him as one of the premier backs in the 2011 class.

He should be able to come in from day one and make a huge impact on this Georgia Bulldogs football team.

Crowell will be the featured back next year alongside Washaun Ealey and Carlton Thomas. With Aaron Murray returning after a great freshman season, look for this offense to be very good.

Even with the loss of A.J. Green, this offense should show major improvements with the addition of TE Jay Rome and RB Crowell.

Crowell is one of the pieces to the Georgia "Dream Team." The Bulldogs have already locked up commitments from DE Ray Drew, TE Jay Rome and CB Malcolm Mitchell.

This is great news for Georgia Bulldogs fans being able to keep the No. 1 recruit in the state of Georgia. In the past, this hasn't been the case. Eric Berry and Da'Rick Rogers come to mind immediately.

This announcement will catapult Georgia into the top five recruiting rankings. They were a top 10 team coming into the day, and Crowell will increase this ranking.

Although this is a dream team, it is not a reality yet. They still have to go out and win games on Saturday. They have the pieces in place, but they will have to win in the fall to make it worth it.

The "Dream Team" is not finished yet, as 4-star DT and JUCO transfer John Jenkins is going to make his decision on Saturday.

Georgia Bulldogs fans, what does this mean to you and this team looking forward?

I know I am excited and I can't wait for the 2011 season to start.

See where the Top 100 recruits are headed.
