Tim Jernigan Announcement: Where Will The DT Recruit Sign?

0 of 4

Tim Jernigan remains one of the nation's most sought-after recruits.

At 6'2'', 275 pounds, Jernigan, the No. 2 defensive tackle in the country, is a force against the run  and ranks No. 17 overall among recruits in the 2011 class according to ESPN.com.

It's safe to say that Jernigan is a lock to make an immediate impact wherever he does end up.

He's currently deciding between three finalists with one school striking the lottery when he does make his announcement. Here is our take on the Tim Jernigan sweepstakes.

Tim Jernigan Finalist: Florida State

1 of 4

Florida state has put the pressure on Jernigan over the past month and have turned into a potential landing place for the space-taking tackle.

Jernigan has a close relationship with Seminoles' assistant Odell Haggins and that could very well be the breaking point in one of the nation's top recruits joining one of the nation's top recruiting classes.

Tim Jernigan Finalist: LSU

2 of 4

LSU is another school with what appears to be an inside track on the commitment of Jernigan.

The Tigers currently have two top-flight defensive tackles committed verbally in 5-star Anthony Johnson and 4-star Mickey Johnson.

Jernigan made his official visit to LSU in early November.

Tim Jernigan Finalist: Tennessee

3 of 4

The Vols remain in the game for Jernigan, but it's a wonder just how high the chances are that Jernigan lands with Tennessee.

Jernigan took his official to Tennessee this past weekend and there is certainly a need for a player of his caliber on the defensive line of this year's Tennessee recruiting class.

Yet, there seems to be a lack of buzz surrounding Tennessee's recruitiment of the top-ranked undeclared defensive tackle.

Tim Jernigan: Prediction

4 of 4

All signs point for Jernigan to commit to Florida State.

He took his official visit to Tallahassee last weekend and all reports indicate that it lived up to his expectations of the school.

Florida State seems to have long been in the lead for Jernigan and he'll likely make it official on National Signing Day.
