
College Football Recruiting 2011: The Top 10 States for 2011 Prospects
Every college program knows where exactly they need to go to land the best prospects for their schools. There are many hotbed states in the country that breed football stars.
Let's take a look at the top ten states for prospects in this 2011 recruiting class.

10. Pennsylvania

Known for the great quarterbacks that have come out the state in the past, Pennsylvania checks in at number ten with good prospects such as tight end Ben Koyack, defensive back Dondi Kirby and defensive end Deion Barnes.
Keep an eye on athlete Terrell Chestnut of Pottsgrove, he's headed to Pittsburgh. He could end at cornerback ala Derrelle Revis.
9. New Jersey
2 of 10
An area that produced Bill Parcells and Brian Cushing among others, this year is the same for Jersey. Savon Huggins, a gifted running back, is coveted by almost every program in the region.
Marquise Wright, Damiere Byrd, Mike Shuler and Anthony Sarao are other top prospects.
8. Ohio
3 of 10
Ohio State has become a staple in the BCS and their talent base is the large reason for their success. Jim Tressel cleans up Ohio.
Top player, Braxton Miller is a dual threat QB and Michael Bennett and Kenny Hayes will join him at Ohio State. Linebacker Trey DePriest has decided to head south and play at Alabama.
7. South Carolina

Boasting the top player in the country in Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina's impressive list doesn't stop there.
Charone Peake is a 6-3 receiver headed to Clemson, and Brandon Shell, Pat Martin, Lateek Townsend and Philip Dukes are just the tip of the iceberg for the talent that is in this state this season.
6. Alabama

As normal, football is a religion in the south and Alabama is no different from the church on the gridiron.
Brent Calloway, Jonathan Rose, Marvin Shinn and Erique Rose are all future Saturday stars.
Alabama and Auburn really do not have to leave their state to stockpile talent.
5. Louisiana

It must be something in the water near the bayou as Lousiiana breeds stars. Whether it's the Creole or Cajun cooking is up for debate but Anthony Johnson and La'El Collins are big boys who can move.
Odell Beckham, Kenny Hilliard, Jarvis Landry and Greg Robinson round out the top talent in Louisiana this year.
4. Georgia

Georgia comes in at No.4 this year and boast a very talented and star studded cast in the state this year, the Peach State has a hoard of talent.
Ray Drew, Stephen Tuitt and Isaiah Crowell will all likely see very early playing time next year at their desired schools.
Crowell's Carver high school teammate, Gabe Wright is a top notch recruit, and Jay Rome, Sterling Bailey and Damian Swann are also very gifted on the field.
3. California

California is a must see on the recruiting trail if you're a program who wants top notch talent on your roster.
A fantastic legacy of football players for decades, this year's top two players include De'Anthony Thomas and George Farmer, both USC commits.
Tre Madden, Cody Kessler, Brendon Bigelow, Marquise Lee, Devon Blackmon and Greg Townsend are just the begining of the list of standout prep stars the call the Sunshine State home.
2. Texas

The state of Texas could fall of the face of the planet and college coaches would still travel there to recruit its players.
Malcolm Brown, the top rated running back in the country, Brandon Williams, a top three rated running back in the country, and Trey Metoyer, a top two rated receiver in the country are at the forefront of the Lone Star State's crop this year.
Jace Amarao, Steve Edmond, Herschel Sims and Sedrick Flower are other top prospects in a state of top prospects.
1. Florida
10 of 10
Florida has the top spot this year. Star after star, it seems this year they all hail from Florida.
With the coaching changes at Florida and Miami, it's no wonder why college coaches continuously flood Florida in search of prep football prospects to bring back to campus.
Mike Bellamy, Karlos Williams, Teddy Bridgewater, Hasean Clinton-Dix, Tony Steward, James Wilder, Jr., Nick O'Leary, Demetrius Hart, Sammy Watkins, Jeff Driskel and...you know what, I'll stop there.
