Discipline is the key in gambling.

Betting the board, that is betting too many games, is a recipe for disaster.

Money management is essential.

Most gamblers lose, so the keys are generally lost early.

The magic hit, the lucky ship, is always on the horizon. The unbelievable parlay, the magic teaser, the pretty pleaser all ready to roll in filled with fresh dough.

Everybody's prayin' and drinkin' that wine
I can tell the Queen of Diamonds by the way she shines
Come to daddy on the inside straight,
Well I got no chance of losin' this time.

So here we go another season and lets start firing....

Utah -3 1/2 at Michigan. Michigan has a new offense scheme and a bunch of new faces. But they are at home and still have the defense to contain Ute QB Brian Johnson.

Michigan 26-20. Michigan for two units.

Syracuse +11 1/2 at Northwestern. Hate laying the big points with the Wildcats but Syracuse is just terrible. The Northwestern spread attack should shred Syracuse which lacks an offense. Look for Syracuse Coach Robinson to be fired mid campaign.

Northwestern 41-14. Northwestern for two units.

Western Michigan + 14 1/2 at Nebraska. Lot of points to lay with Nebraska whose defense surrendered 40 plus points a game last year. The Broncos are balanced and have a lot of players back look for them to make it a game.

Nebraska 38- 36. Western Michigan for two units

Virginia Tech - 9 1/2 at East Carolina. East Carolina covered at Blacksburg last years. The Pirates hang tough against a Tech squad with a lot of new faces.

Virgina Tech 25-23. East Carolina for two units.

Alabama + 5 against Clemson at the Georgia Dome. Clemson's squad is stocked with NFL quality players at the skill positions but their offensive line is raw. Look for the inspired Tide to make it close.

Clemson 21-20 Alabama for two units.

Fresno State +5 at Rutgers. Fresno's big play QB Tom Brandstater and his 12 senior pals make the Bulldogs live dogs. This dogs has sharp teeth.

Fresno State 34-29 Fresno for three units

Total play of the week. Michigan has all new faces on offense. The Utes play conservatively. Still 40 is low for a college contest.

A stab of one unit on the Over 40

Good luck Happy Hunting...

And remember roll dem bones to feed that jones.
