Dear Claire,

It's that time of the year and on a personal level, the stakes are higher than they've ever been.

Is it because both the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs are both fighting to stay alive in the SEC East race?

A win for either team would be a huge boost to their respective seasons while a loss pretty much eliminates the defeated from a chance to play the SEC West champion in Atlanta.

Maybe it's the fact that the 'Dawgs enter this game playing their best football of the season while the Gators should chalk up every first down as a major accomplishment.

Florida has annihilated Georgia by a combined score of 90-27 in the last two meetings and knowing the bad blood in this rivalry, the Bulldogs are probably very eager to kick the Gators while they're down.

And you always have to consider just the general nature of this rivalry, the history that these teams share and the moments that have added to its lore and fired up each team's fanbases.

However, while growing up a Florida fan always made me despise Georgia, that feeling only intensified when I got that letter in the mail this spring telling me I had been accepted at UF.

Now, it's on.

This is my school lined up against your school.

Everything I love about Gainesville, my friends, my professors, my textbooks and the two exams I took today matched up against Athens, your friends, your sorority and the lamp that I put together this summer that's sitting in your dorm room.

You are a Bulldog and finally, after years of cheering on the Orange and Blue, I can now say that I am a Gator.

Even though Florida has lost three straight games and the offense has looked anemic all season long, I know we'll come out and smack y'all in the mouth with the full force of the Gator Nation in tow.

Through all kinds of weather, we'll all stick together and unfortunately for your 'Dawgs, it's going to be a clear, sunny day in Jacksonville for Urban Meyer and Co.

(Granted, based on Florida's recent woes, I have no room to trash talk, but hey, it wouldn't be any fun if I held back. Besides, I'm not afraid!)

This rivalry just got a lot more fun and I hope you're as ready as I am for kickoff Saturday.

See you in Jacksonville, sis.
