Missouri vs. West Virginia: Snooze Fest or Breath of Fresh Air?

I recently read an article by a certain "columnist" babbling on about how a Missouri vs West Virginia title game would be a "snooze fest". The "columnist" went on to talk about how the stories weren't interesting enough and it wouldn't be worth viewing the battle of the unlikelies.

Snooze fest? How about breath of fresh air?

I can't stand these talking heads who want sports to be all about the "stories" and "drama," simply for the benefit of their so-called journalism careers. The fact that a team like Missouri could go from Big 12 doormat to National Championship contender (regardless of how flawed the BCS is) and that WVU could potentially leap the hurdle from good to great is about as good as the story will get.

I'm still pretty young, but this is about the greatest College Football season that I can remember. The Zookers took down OSU, USC lost to Stanford, KU and MU finally found their way out of the cellar, and No. 1 has enjoyed any kind of parity immunity.  And better yet, this season just screams PLAYOFF!

Now, Missouri still has to find its way around OU, and WVU must avoid a complete Dave "the Mustache" Wanstadt upset, before the certain "columnist" can worry about guzzling energy drinks to make it through the championship. Instead of being down about a potential "snoozer" for a title game, we should really take a nice deep breath of fresh air and enjoy the fact that two teams have overcome a lot to put themselves in position to play their way into history.

So I say to all of you wearing black and gold or blue and yellow: Scream louder and harder than ever for your teams knowing that some snotty columnist thinks your stories aren't worthy of his attention.

Good luck Mizzou and WVU and I hope you make it to New Orleans. You have DEFINITELY earned your chance and this is one College Football fan who surely will stay awake.
