I was chatting with a old friend and the discussion of scholarships came up.For the longest time as far as I can remember I have heard talk of athletes being suspended for violating NCAA rules for excepting gifts may it be money, clothes, cars, etc violations made by either alumni of the instutution or so call runners for sport agents.Well let us look at the purpose of a scholarship it is not for the purpose to play football it is so that the student can attend the instutution so he can play football. Now why is that offered to only a few you asked and not every student who participates in a sport?Because he or she is not the next big thing they are not the stud player which means you  the school will not make money off their talents,I dont know sounds like being a PIMP to me  thats what Alabama head coach Nick Saben said the agents were being yesterday in his press conference.Scholarships or suppose to take away the burden of the parents and the student to figure a way to pay for a higher learning. So when a sport agency approaches a college player and offers him not a education but some things that can ease the burden that a young man wants and so he can maybe focus more on his education which you the school are paying for.In reality these are young men and they make mistakes they go out and start a family so then they have to make a choice drop outof school there for giving up on the dream of being in the pros or maybe signing with a agency that offers them money,a home, and sometime a car so they can stay in school get a degree and still bring in the millions of dollars that the schools get year after year.Lets face it the entire system is about the almighty dollar it is a cycle that keeps going and going it is all about the greed and yes some would say the only one getting hurt is the athlete but if the NCAA would change the rule maybe make a new rule saying " IF A ATHLETE IS ON A ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP AND CHOOSE TO SIGN WITH A SPORT AGENCY THE STUDENT/ATHLETE WILL IMMEDIATELY  BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINANCIAL  OBLIGATION TO THE SCHOOL AND THE STUDENT COULD FINSH THEIR FOOTBALL OR WHATEVER SPORT AT SAID SCHOOL" in that way you ensure the athlete if he chooses to sign with a agency that they are legit and that they have the best intrest in their behalf.
