Gary Pinkel's Vague Answers at Missouri's Media Day Leave Fans Wondering
Happy Big 12 Media Day to you.Ā Monday was Mizzou's day, and "Dayum."Ā I was hoping for some clarity on a few issues: starting running back and just some thoughts on the O-Line.
Gary Pinkel left us hanging worse than my dad did when he'd forget my Little League practice ended at 6:30 pm instead of 11:30 pm, smelling eerily like hot wings and Pete's Lounge.
My main question for Pinkeltoes has to be, "Who is running the 'skin?"
"We have Derrick Washington, also a Kansas City native.Ā Did well a year ago as a freshman, played, I think he's an outstanding talent, a little different than what Tony [Temple] is as far as style.Ā Jimmy Jackson has been here.Ā It will be his fifth year here at University of Missouri and he's done outstanding things.
"De'Vion Moore is a player from St. Louis that nobody knows about yet."
Hmmm.Ā My guess is going to be a rotation of the three.Ā Thanks GP.Ā Well, how about that O-Line?
"We lost two starters in the offensive line from a year ago.Ā And we also lost two backups, so we lost four of our Top 10 players.
"When you just see two starters leave, both Tyler Luellen was a real good player and Adam Spieker was Lineman of the Year.Ā We lost talented players but when you lose four of your Top 10, we've got some holes to fill there.
Do I feel comfortable?Ā We'll be okay, yeah.Ā But I think it's going to be like our defense was a year ago.Ā Our offensive line as we look at them are going to have to be a lot better in October and a lot better in November than they were at the beginning."
Pinkel's answers are shadier than the dude that buys a "My Little Pony," a four-pack of Bartles and James, and a pack of rubbers.Ā Give us some answers.
On a side note: Drew Temple and George White are good to go for Mizzou.Ā What will Tigerboard do now?
Jason Townson?Ā Not so much.Ā And yeah, I said "Who?" as well.
