South Florida Bulls: Are They as Good as the Media Portrays Them?

They are one hell of a team this year.  Jim Leavitt has his club playing better than they ever have. 

USF has already beaten 2 ranked teams in Auburn and West Virginia, Auburn on the road. 

I think I may have confused some readers with my comments in previous articles about USF running it up on UCF.  I was by no means singling out USF.  They're not the only team.  Are they worth being #2 in the BCS?  I don't think so, but are they worth a spot in the top 5?  Absolutely.  They're a good football team.

Here's a little rundown of my forecast for the Bulls this year.

@ Rutgers Oct. 18th: I think Rutgers has flown a little bit under the radar this year after their 2 losses.  They certainly present a challenge for USF, but I see USF taking this contest in the 24-14 vacinity.

@ Conneticut Oct. 27th: This will definitely be one of the easier games for them, but UConn is 5-1, so they shouldn't be looked over.  38-13 USF.

Cincinatti Nov. 3rd: This is one of the games that USF could potentially lose.  The Bearcats are 6-1 and 1-1 in the Big East.  They'll have to contain Cincinatti QB Ben Mauk, but that's not incredibly easy.  I take the Bearcats in the upset 19-14.

@ Syracuse Nov. 10th: Syracuse was able to avenge Louisville in a 38-35 win, but that's their only W on the year.  USF 52-7

Louisville Nov. 17th: The Cardinals suffered 3 upsets in the early going to Kentucky, Syracuse and Utah, but upset Cincinatti last week.  Louisville is coming off their best game of the year, but they'll get abliterated in this one.  56-10 Bulls.

@ Pittsburgh Nov. 24th: Pitt is 2-4 (0-1 in Big East) and looking absolutely horrible in conference.  USF will come out motivated to earn the Big East championship and a BCS bid, smoking the Panthers 48-10.

USF Bowl Prediction: an 11-1 season gets USF in the Orange Bowl with the ACC champion, likely Boston College.  I'm not sure who would win that matchup, but it would be a great game.
