
Alabama, Notre Dame to Hold Home-and-Home Football Series in 2028, 2029
Alabama and Notre Dame, two of the most storied programs in college football, will play a home-and-home series in 2028 and 2029.
The schools announced their head-to-head matchups in an official release on Alabama's athletics website Thursday.
"We are excited to be able to add a home-and-home series with a team like Notre Dame," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "Alabama and Notre Dame represent two of the most storied programs in college football history. What a great opportunity for our team and our fans to be able to witness these teams play in two of the sport's most iconic venues in Tuscaloosa and South Bend."

Notre Dame will host the first game against Alabama on Sept. 2, 2028. The two teams will return to Bryant-Denny Stadium for their second meeting on Sept. 1, 2029.
The Fighting Irish and Crimson Tide have met a total of seven times in their history. Notre Dame holds a 5-2 edge in the series, but Alabama won the most recent matchup 42-14 in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game.
Alabama (891) and Notre Dame (885) rank fifth and sixth all-time in wins among FBS programs. The Crimson Tide have the most national championships in the poll era with 12 since 1936, followed by the Irish in second with eight.
