Kiffin Repaired Image Under Saban
Kiffin's career has done a complete 180 since he joined Nick Saban's staff at Alabama in 2014. He was a laughingstock after his failed stint with the Oakland Raiders from 2007 to 2008 and essentially walked out on the University of Tennessee after the 2009 season to become USC's head coach.
Following Kiffin's firing from USC, he moved to Alabama and led the Crimson Tide to three consecutive seasons averaging at least 35.1 points per game, including 40.5 in 2016.
Alabama's offensive success under Kiffin is opening new doors for him. Godfrey also noted Saban was "actively promoting" his offensive coordinator to Houston for its head-coaching job after Texas hired Tom Herman.
