Auburn vs. Alabama: Live Score and Highlights for 2016 Iron Bowl
After a mistake-filled first half of the Iron Bowl, Alabama coach Nick Saban noted to CBS after the game that he told his Crimson Tide players to forget everything and just execute on offense.
They did that, controlling the game with a revived ground attack after the half to join UA's dominating defense in what turned out to be a 30-12 rout of rival Auburn in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide out-gained the Tigers 501-182, and AU mustered just seven first downs the entire game as neither Jeremy Johnson nor John Franklin III could generate anything against Alabama's smothering front seven.
Now, UA will march into next weekend's SEC Championship Game against Florida undefeated and with a College Football Playoff spot all but locked up, regardless of the outcome of the game. Still, it would be unwise to bet against the Tide in the championship game.
