Oregon TE Pharaoh Brown Appears to Let Go of Ball Before Crossing Goal Line
One of these days, football players will learn to hold onto the ball until they cross the goal line. It's not that hard.
On Saturday, Oregon Ducks tight end Pharaoh Brown became the latest to celebrate a touchdown too early. Fortunately for him and the Ducks, the referees missed it.
Brown caught a pass on 3rd-and-3 near his 27-yard line and turned up the field. As he ran along the sideline, he stiff-armed an Arizona State defender and then coasted to the end zone.
However, when you slow things down, you'll see he let go of the ball before he crossed the goal line:
The crazy thing is Brown has been involved in a game where a premature celebration burned an opponent.
Brown was credited with a 72-yard touchdown that helped give Oregon a 7-0 lead.
