Nebraska vs. Indiana: Live Score, Highlights for Cornhuskers vs. Hooisers

Brian MarronOct 15, 2016

Nebraska 27, Indiana 22. Game Over.

With a high ranking and not much of a resume, the Nebraska Cornhuskers earned their toughest win yet this season as they downed the Indiana Hoosiers on the road.

In a back-and-fourth contest that featured a pair of inept offensive performances, it was Nebraska that made the key plays in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

With about eight minutes remaining, Nebraska led a seven-minute drive after an Indiana touchdown to put the game away with a field goal. On the ensuing drive, Indiana quarterback Richard Lagow was picked off to end the upset bid.

Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong struggled all day, going 10-of-26 through the air for 208 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He also added 36 rushing yards, but Terrell Newby helped seal the game with powering runs on the final drive. He finished with 102 yards and a touchdown.

Lagow failed to get into much of a rhythm, as his inconsistent play were reasons why Indiana could not take advantage of several Nebraska errors. He totaled 196 yards on 19-of-32 passing to go with a touchdown and two picks.

The Cornhuskers raced out to a 17-point lead thanks to a Newby score and a pick-six from Lagow. Yet, Indiana was able to chip away with a safety and numerous field goals. Indiana running back Devine Redding also led the charge, racking up 57 yards and a touchdown rushing to go with a receiving score. Mitchell Paige was the Hoosiers' best offensive player, finishing with nine catches for 101 yards.

With the win, Nebraska moves to 6-0, while Indiana will have to fight for bowl eligibility this season at 3-3.
