Man with Machete Dies After Being Shot at University of Colorado Stadium
Police in Boulder, Colorado, shot and killed a man with a machete Wednesday after he entered Folsom Field, the University of Colorado's football field.
According to Mitchell Byars of the Daily Camera, eyewitnesses reported an altercation occurring at 9:15 a.m. MT, and "one of the people involved did brandish a sharp weapon and was menacing with it." The man then entered the Champions Center, a training facility at the football stadium.
"We just know that he was directed to put the weapon down and refused, and it was at that time, for public safety, that we believe the shots were fired," campus police spokesman Scott Pribble said.
The Daily Camera shared a clip from a brief press conference by Pribble:
Authorities confirmed no one else inside the building or any officers responding to the scene were harmed in the incident.
