Fournette May Need Surgery

Will Carroll of SEC Country reported the injury is a "chronic problem." He also noted that questions about whether he needs surgery may arise closer to the NFL Scouting Combine.
Fournette Is One of the Premier Players in College Football
Fournette entered his junior campaign at the forefront of the Heisman Trophy conversation after tallying 1,953 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns in 2015. His dynamic playmaking ability also caused his NFL draft stock to rise considerably.
Injuries have become a key storyline so far this season, though. The 21-year-old New Orleans native suffered a sprained ankle during an August practice that landed him in a walking boot. Though he returned for the season opener, his ankle problems continued to linger.
If the latest issue causes him to miss action against the Aggies, Derrius Guice figures to handle a majority of the backfield work for the Tigers after rushing for 252 yards against Arkansas. Nick Brossette and Darrel Williams could also see their roles in the offense expand if the starter is limited.
All told, LSU won't be able to replace what a completely healthy Fournette can bring to the offense, no matter how it divides the backfield workload in the meantime. He's one of the best players in the nation, but the consistent injury woes are becoming a concern.
