Bowl Games Schedule 2015-16: TV, Live Stream Info and Championship Predictions
The second Selection Sunday in college football history has arrived. After a weekend of conference championship games helped shape the landscape of the sport, the College Football Playoff committee selected the four teams that will compete for a national title.
The names shouldn't surprise anyone.
ACC champion Clemson will enter as the tournament's top seed after running through the regular season 13-0. The Tigers defeated North Carolina 45-37 in Saturday's ACC Championship Game, helping them match up with Big 12 champion Oklahoma. The Sooners were idle this week and were leapfrogged by Big Ten champion Michigan State.
The Spartans defeated Iowa, 16-13, in what amounted to a tournament play-in game. They'll move on to play second-seeded Alabama. The Tide earned a 29-15 win over Florida in Saturday's SEC Championship Game, earning the second consecutive title for the first time in the Nick Saban era.
That helps complete the bowl-selection process that was largely otherwise decided. Here is a look at every bowl game, along with a preview of what to expect from the two-game playoff.

Championship Preview

Clemson was far from perfect this season. The Tigers turned the ball over more than their opponent in six games, and they ended the regular season with closer-than-expected games against Syracuse and South Carolina due to their mental gaffes.
"When we win the turnover margin, we're going to kill somebody," Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney said after defeating the Gamecocks, per Ed McGranahan of the State.
Saturday's ACC title game proved that wasn't necessarily the case. Clemson gained 608 total yards of offense and won the turnover battle but still needed a controversial offsides call on an onside kick to ensure victory. North Carolina recovered its initial attempt after bringing the game within eight points with just over a minute remaining, but an official said a Tar Heels player jumped the line, which forced a rekick. Replays showed no players were offside.
“I had a chance to look at it and they missed it. They were wrong,” Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora said, per Cindy Boren of the Washington Post. “That’s all I’m going to say about it. They were wrong.”

All season, the effort in atoning for Clemson's near-shortcomings has been led by Heisman candidate Deshaun Watson, who threw for 3,512 yards and 30 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. He also added 887 yards on the ground and has lived up to every bit of the hype since his arrival.
"He was like, 'You know what, guys, this is a team thing. All of us are doing this together,'" offensive lineman Eric Mac Lain told ESPN.com's Andrea Adelson. "So I think his true character has really emerged from this process. He could have gotten big-headed and it's all about him. He stayed true to the team, and it's pretty unique for a young guy."
Running back Wayne Gallman has been a nationally underappreciated part of the plan, rushing for more than 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns. He's gone over the 100-yard mark in eight of the Tigers' 13 games thus far.
The Sooners have their own Heisman candidate in Baker Mayfield. Oklahoma's starting quarterback threw for 3,389 yards and 35 touchdowns against five interceptions during the regular season and went without a pick in four of his last five games.
Clemson-Oklahoma should prove to be a high-scoring affair. The Tigers have allowed opponents to top 20 points on six different occasions, including consecutive games of 30-plus. Oklahoma has allowed opponents to hit the 20-point mark on seven occasions.
Regardless, the winner of Alabama-Michigan State will likely step into the championship game as the favorite. SEC teams always get the benefit of the doubt because of their gauntlet regular season, and there may be no hotter team in the country than Michigan State.
The Crimson Tide have returned to their old-school mentality in 2015, with Derrick Henry leading a grind-it-out offense and perhaps the nation's best defense. He has rushed for 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, emerging as the Heisman front-runner.
"He doesn't have like a 400-yard game or whatever, but this is the SEC—we have really good defenses, too," Alabama center Ryan Kelly said, per Joseph Goodman of AL.com. "I think the more notable thing and honorable thing is that [Henry] goes in there 45 times in a game and runs the ball against guys who are just as big as he is and bigger, and still continuous goes back play after play. That's my Heisman pitch for him."
Henry will face a Michigan State team that ranks 15th in opposing rushing yards and ranks among the best overall defenses in the nation. The Spartans aren't quite as defensively dominant as Alabama, but no other CFB playoff team even comes close. They've held opponents to 16 or fewer points in their last four games and have been nearly flawless since their 38-37 loss to Nebraska.
Michigan State will go up against an Alabama secondary that's allowed just 13 touchdown passes all season and hasn't seen an opposing team touch 20 points in nearly two months. Wins over Ohio State and Iowa likely give the Spartans confidence they can win a grind-it-out affair, but it's clear that the two first-round games will vary wildly from a stylistic standpoint.
Smart money is on the favorite, Alabama, but Ohio State proved last year that nothing is determined until the players set foot on the field.
