Fan in Attendance at Michigan State vs. Michigan Suffered Heart Attack
A spectator at the dramatic matchup between Michigan State and Michigan on Saturday afternoon suffered a heart attack in the stands, according to CBS Detroit.
"We did have one heart attack at the end of the game in the stadium," University of Michigan public information officer Diane Brown said. "Emergency medical personnel got to that person right away and were able to take that person to the University of Michigan emergency department for further treatment."
She added, "We were going into the stands right after the game ended," per Jeremy Allen of MLive.com.
The contest between the Wolverines and Spartans ended in spectacular fashion, as Michigan punter Blake O'Neill fumbled a long snap with just 10 seconds remaining and the Wolverines leading 23-21. Michigan State's Jalen Watts-Jackson scooped up the loose ball and ran 38 yards for the game-winning touchdown as time expired.
When he was tackled into the end zone, though, Watts-Jackson fractured his hip. He had surgery Sunday, per Dan Murphy of ESPN.com.
