USC coach Steve Sarkisian provided the optimistic update, stressing the strained abdominal injury was not serious, according to Michael Lev of the O.C. Register.
Jackson was injured while returning a punt in the second quarter on Saturday and was then evaluated on the sidelines, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Jackson is USC's most versatile player, as well as one of the most well-rounded athletes in college football today. Sarkisian even said that Jackson is one of the best athletes that he has ever worked with, per Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times.
He made an immediate impact with the Trojans as a freshman, starting 10 games at cornerback and recording 49 tackles as he showed that he could keep up with any receiver in the nation.
Jackson had little trouble flipping the script too. On the offensive side, Jackson caught 10 passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns as he continued to build a relationship with quarterback Cody Kessler.
To top things off, he was a threat returning kicks, compiling 684 yards on 23 kickoff returns with two touchdowns.
His ability to play on all sides of the ball helps make the Trojans one of the most complete teams in the nation, and they were recently ranked 10th overall in the Amway coaches poll.
Sarkisian has high hopes for Jackson, as he told Fox Sports' Aaron Torres:
The team will have to rely on JuJu Smith, Darreus Rogers, Steven Mitchell and the rest of the wide receivers to step up and fill the void on offense if Jackson were to miss any time.
