Kynon's Korner: Vols Looking to Flip Ole Miss Commit, 3-Star RB to Visit Miami
Welcome to flipping season. It's the time of year when committed prospects decide to make a switch—or "flip"—to another school.
The coaching carousel is in full effect, so prospects have to look out for their best interest if a school they are interested in makes a change.
Nashville (Tennessee) Overton defensive back Ugo Amadi committed to Ole Miss in March, but he recently called a press conference for Dec. 15 to make his college intentions known to the public.

If he is verbally committed to Ole Miss, why the need to make a new declaration?

Amadi responded, "The new announcement is for people to be around. No one was around when I made my last announcement and committed. I just want to make the most of my high school career."
Do Ole Miss fans have anything to worry about?
"I'm solid to Ole Miss right now, but LSU coaches are coming at me pretty hard," Amadi said. "They want me to play special teams and corner as a true freshman same goes for Tennessee."
Yesterday, the Vols stopped by for an in-home visit with the 3-star cover corner. Amadi said the visit went well.
"The in home visit was great," Amadi said. "Coach Butch Jones, Coach Tommy Thigpen and Coach Willie Martinez came (to the house). They have a open spot next year for their nickel back position. They said I fit that spot perfectly and also they need me to help with punt returns."
The 5'10", 180-pounder said he is going to try to take an official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend to see the Tigers before he announces Monday.
Defensive coordinator John Chavis is recruiting Amadi for LSU. Amadi said he feels "comfortable" with all the schools recruiting him, which is making his decision even harder.
Can Ole Miss hold on or will an SEC foe score another flip?
Monday is decision day for Amadi, and this time there will be plenty of attention on his announcement.
Miami Set To Host Running Back Javarius Davis

Javarius Davis out of Jacksonville (Florida) Ed White is set for his official visit to Miami this weekend after his previous trip was rescheduled. Davis is being recruited as an athlete by the 'Canes, but he excels on the offensive side of the ball as a running back.
What is he looking to see on his second trip to Coral Gables?
"I'm looking forward to bonding with the coaches," Davis said. "Last time I was there it was summer. I just want to see how the coaching staff is together as a whole and were I'll fit in their offense."
Where does Miami want him at the next level?
"They are recruiting me at athlete, but we'll go over that when I'm down there," Davis said.
The speedy playmaker is making the trip during what should be a fun weekend for recruits visiting campus, as ESPN will premier the 30 for 30 sequel of "The U."
Davis said he will most likely watch the documentary. One of the factors in Miami's direction for him is its tradition, and the first film was able to capture the program's rich history.
Miami is also selling another key ingredient with Davis.
"They told me they don't have anybody with my speed," he told Bleacher Report. "The coaches say I could come in early and make a big impact. Plus I love the old U, and I think they could get back to that with a few pieces."
Davis said he grew up a fan of the late Sean Taylor, but now he watches Duke Johnson.
Miami linebackers coach Hurlie Brown has built a solid foundation with Davis.
"Coach Brown and I have a great relationship," Davis said. "He said we have similarities in our running style and the same body type."
Miami finished with a disappointing 6-6 season. Despite their record, Davis said he is seriously considering the school.
"It was an OK season," he said. " I think it should have been better, but they'll bounce back. I don't have a leader right now, but they are in the mix. Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino and Florida offensive coordinator Kurt Roper stopped by yesterday."
The Hurricanes have three running backs committed for 2015, but all three have taken or will take official visits elsewhere. Davis appears to be a viable option for Miami should one of their committed backs defect before signing day.
Louisville Pushing for Miami Commit
Speaking of the Hurricanes, they are working hard to keep Winter Garden (Florida) West Orange running back Dexter Williams in the fold as Louisville makes a big push for the Miami recruit.
Williams committed to the 'Canes in April, but that hasn't stopped several schools from pursuing the talented tailback with 4.55 (Nike Combine verified electronic timed), 40-yard-dash speed.
Louisville received an official visit for Williams and the trip went as expected, West Orange assistant coach Joe Light said.
"He liked Louisville a lot and he had plenty of good things to say about the trip," Light said.
Should Miami fans be on edge about his verbal commitment status?
"He is still a solid UM commit," Light said. "Very firm on it."
The 4-star prospect is a fan of head coach Al Golden, and that is a big factor with his recruitment. There has been hot-seat talk about Golden's job security, but Miami athletic director Blake James reiterated yesterday Golden's job is safe (subscription required).
"Golden came to his house last week. He loves Golden and his staff," Light said. "As long as he stays, Dex stays."
It looks like Williams isn't going anywhere, but I don't expect Louisville to let up with their pursuit of the speedy back.
His teammate Jalen Julius is high on the Cardinals, and they both took their official visits to the Bluegrass State together.
Also keep an eye on Florida, who could look to get him on campus in the coming weeks.
LSU Gets Athlete Donte Jackson On Campus
Two-way star Donte Jackson from New Orleans (Louisiana) Riverdale took an impromptu visit to LSU over the weekend. The Tigers remain in the hunt along with another SEC powerhouse.
"I pushed my official visit to LSU back to January," Jackson said. "My visit over the weekend was an unofficial. I was just chilling up there, I wasn't there too long."
LSU is in great position with Jackson. He has a good bond with the staff and said Les Miles is "real cool."
Jackson said it's a two-team race between the in-state Tigers and Georgia.
When asked if his mom wants him to stay close to home? He didn't tip his hand.
"No. She just wants me to be comfortable," he said.
Jackson said his relationships with the Georgia and LSU coaches have been the same. They aren't pressuring him at this stage, but expect that to change when he takes his official visits in January.
I don't expect LSU to lose Jackson to the Bulldogs, although the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball predictions have him leaning to Georgia. It's rare for the 'Dawgs to come into LSU's backyard to land a coveted target.
However, head coach Mark Richt already has Louisiana prospect Michael Chigbu committed, so Georgia has a shot. It will be interesting to see if Richt can go 2-for-2.
If he does, it will open up a new recruiting territory for Georgia—and that is always a good thing in the ultra-competitive SEC.
