The Opening 2014: Predicting Where All Uncommitted Recruits Will Land

0 of 78

With The Opening taking place from July 5-10, 162 outstanding recruits will be in Beaverton, Oregon, competing against one another at Nike's world headquarters. While many prospects scheduled to be in attendance have already declared where they'll be attending college, a good portion of the players at the event will be uncommitted.

Predictions are always fun, and this piece will focus on the uncommitted recruits at The Opening. A 5-star defensive tackle appears ready to announce he's following family tradition, while a 4-star receiver looks like he will be catching balls at UCLA.

Also, Texas could be the pick for a 4-star running back.

5-Star DT Kahlil McKenzie

1 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Tennessee is at 95 percent.

The recruitment for Kahlil McKenzie is pretty much over, as the 5-star defensive tackle is all but certain to announce for Tennessee. He is scheduled to announce his decision at The Opening on July 10, per 247Sports.

The Volunteers will be celebrating the commitment of a 6'4", 330-pound beast in the defensive trenches. McKenzie is the son of former Vol and current Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, who'll be proud to see his son follow in his footsteps.

4-Star CB Isaiah Langley

2 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: USC is at 56 percent, while California at 44 percent.

There is a split when it comes to Isaiah Langley, a 4-star cornerback from California. USC could be the pick, but do not count out California. The Bears seem to be gaining momentum as of late, plus Oregon should not be slept on.

USC would likely have Langley play cornerback, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Cal ask him to suit up as a receiver. The Trojans are the pick here.

3-Star CB Xavier Lewis

3 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: LSU is at 100 percent.

The world may come to be still if Xavier Lewis doesn't commit to LSU. The 6'0", 175-pounder will give the Tigers another long corner who can cover in the SEC. He is a Louisiana native, and LSU head coach Les Miles doesn't let many of his state's top recruits leave.

4-Star LB Josh Smith

4 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Vanderbilt is at 93 percent, while Auburn is at 7 percent.

Vanderbilt appears set to welcome 4-star linebacker Josh Smith to the family soon enough. The Commodores lead big in his crystal ball, and the Tennessee native would be able to headline a class as well as stay in his native state.

At 6'3.5" and 218 pounds, he would give head coach Derek Mason a building block in the middle of his defense.

3-Star DB/ATH Stephen Johnson

5 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Oregon is at 100 percent.

There shouldn't be any surprises here, as Stephen Johnson is expected to sign with Oregon. The Ducks are a lock in his crystal ball, plus he fits what they want in a skill-position prospect.

The 3-star California native plays quarterback right now, but he'll be a cornerback or receiver in Eugene. Look for Johnson to eventually become a key player for head coach Mark Helfrich.

3-Star RB AJ Turner

6 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: South Carolina is at 100 percent.

A Virginia native, AJ Turner is a 3-star running back who appears set to head to South Carolina. At 5'11" and 180 pounds, he is a smallish back who will excel early in his career as a specialty player. He has solid quickness and agility to skate through alleys, plus he can be impressive in space.

He will make his announcement at The Opening, per Wes Mitchell of The Big Spur

Turner told the following to Chris Clark of (subscription required) on June 15: "Just playing for the Ol' Ball Coach, you can't really beat that. He's literally a legendary guy. I think it would be awesome to be able to play for him."

3-Star QB Ross Bowers

7 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: California is at 89 percent, with 11 percent for Colorado State.

The smart decision for 3-star quarterback Ross Bowers would be to sign with California, which he'll do. The Washington native is 6'2", 185-pounds and works himself into a rhythm to distribute the ball to his receivers. The Bears operate a pass-heavy spread offense, which bodes well for Bowers. He is set to announce his choice at The Opening on July 8, per Brian Stumpf of Student Sports.

5-Star DE Terry Beckner Jr.

8 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Missouri leads at 70 percent. USC and Ohio State are at 12 percent, while 6 percent is for LSU.

Terry Beckner Jr. is a 5-star defensive end from Illinois who may move inside to defensive tackle at the next level. He's a tough prospect to call, but the pick right now is Missouri. He is from East St. Louis, plus he'll warrant early playing time there.

However, don't count out Ohio State and LSU.

3-Star QB Ryan Brand

9 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Air Force is at 100 percent.

It appears Air Force is certain to land 3-star dual-threat quarterback Ryan Brand. The Detroit native is a great fit for the Falcons offense, which is keyed by a mobile quarterback who can beat defenses with both his arm and legs.

Brand's lack of height at just about 5'10" appears to be holding bigger programs back from offering him.

Update: Brand has indeed committed to Air Force., per 247Sports.

4-Star Cordell Broadus

10 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: UCLA is at 52 percent, while USC is at 48 percent.

Initially, USC was felt to be the leader for 4-star receiver Cordell Broadus. However, things have changed. While his crystal ball shows a close race, Broadus will sign with UCLA.

The Bruins gained a commitment from 5-star quarterback Josh Rosen earlier this spring, which will serve as a key factor in the landing of Broadus. The 6'2" receiver will give head coach Jim Mora a long pass-catcher who can work well in the intermediate passing game.

4-Star DE Austin Bryant

11 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Clemson is at 41 percent, while Florida State is at 35 percent. Auburn and LSU have 18 percent and 6 percent, respectively.

Austin Bryant has a crystal ball that is split mainly between Clemson and Florida State. He'd give the Tigers another great defensive end on the edges, but the Seminoles also are known for producing good defensive linemen.

From Georgia, Bryant will opt to rush passers for Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.

4-Star OG Quarvez Boulware

12 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Maryland is at 100 percent.

A 4-star guard, Quarvez Boulware is expected to end up at Maryland. He hails from Washington, D.C. and is a big-time target on the Terrapins' board. At 6'2.5" and 282 pounds, he fits Maryland's offense well due to his athletic blocking style inside the trenches.

Wake Forest is the Terps' main realistic threat.

4-Star CB Kris Boyd

13 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas A&M is at 48 percent, Texas is at 43 percent, and Florida State is at 9 percent.

Kris Boyd has somewhat of a split crystal ball, but he will sign with Texas A&M. The Aggies are the hot team around Texas, and their recent recruiting success will help them land the 4-star cornerback.

Florida State, however, is a bigger player in this race than people realize. Nevertheless, he'll sign with Texas A&M.

4-Star CB Frank Buncom IV

14 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Stanford is at 100 percent.

Stanford will be where 4-star cornerback Frank Buncom IV plays his college football. The Cardinal offer the San Diego native a chance to play on a big stage while working toward an exceptional degree. The 6'1", 190-pounder has the size to play both cornerback and safety on The Farm.

He can surely be viewed as a lock for head coach David Shaw.

4-Star OT Matthew Burrell

15 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Ohio State is at 93 percent, while Texas and Alabama are at 3 percent each.

Matthew Burrell will consider several schools, but he is going to Ohio State. The 4-star Virginia native is 6'5" and 290 pounds of brick wall as a blocker. He also has the feet and agility to pull and reach a bit in the Buckeyes' spread-option offense.

The Crimson Tide will give him something to think about, but Burrell will end up in Columbus.

4-Star WR John Burt

16 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 53 percent, while Texas is at 47 percent.

Texas will give all it has, but Lincoln Tallahassee High School studs almost never spurn Florida State. That is why 4-star receiver John Burt will keep his 6'3", 180-pound frame home.

He isn't just a tall pass-catcher, as he also has speed and gliding athleticism on the perimeter. Head coach Jimbo Fisher will know how to get maximum production from Burt.

3-Star WR Lawrence Cager

17 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Ohio State leads with 60 percent. Maryland is at 30 percent, while Rutgers is at 10 percent.

This is a tough call, as 3-star receiver Lawrence Cager hails from Maryland. However, the Terrapins do not beat out Ohio State for many prospects, thus Cager will be a Buckeye.

At 6'5" and 210 pounds, he has rare size and length. He also possesses deceptive speed on intermediate routes, plus he runs well after the catch when he gets his legs churning. Those traits will help him in Columbus.

5-Star WR George Campbell

18 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida is at 90 percent, while Clemson is at 6 percent. Michigan is at 3 percent.

A former Michigan commitment, 5-star receiver George Campbell likely will opt to stay somewhat close to his home near Tampa. That is why Florida looks like it will indeed sign him next February. The Gators are still searching for more firepower on offense, and Campbell is a 6'3", 184-pounder with serious speed.

3-Star LB Tevon Coney

19 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida is at 100 percent.

Tevon Coney is a 3-star linebacker who is a lock for Florida. At 6'2" and 225 pounds, he is an athletic 'backer with great short-area quickness. He has a chance to develop into an asset in coverage for the Gators, who would be able to play the Palm Beach Gardens native on all three downs and kick-coverage units.

5-Star DE Byron Cowart

20 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida is at 87 percent, while Oregon is at 10 percent. LSU is last with 3 percent.

While Florida has the lead over Oregon in the crystal ball for Byron Cowart, he'll sign with the Ducks. The Florida native will be able to do everything in Eugene, from standing up on the edges to working with his hand down.

At 6'4" and 250 pounds, he also the strength and growth potential to develop into a defensive tackle. UF will be in it until the end, but look for Cowart to sign with Oregon.

3-Star QB Sam Darnold

21 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: USC is at 60 percent, Oregon is at 25 percent, and Northwestern is at 10 percent.

Sam Darnold is a 3-star dual-threat quarterback who likely will head to USC. The Ducks recently got a commitment from 4-star passer Travis Waller, which could be the event that leads Darnold to Troy.

Although USC boasts a pledge from 5-star quarterback Ricky Town, Darnold told the following to Scott Schrader of FightOn247: "I'm going to have to compete no matter where I go to school, so it doesn't matter to me that Ricky's committed to USC. I expect Ricky and I to be friends if I do go there."

4-Star WR Deondre Farrier

22 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida is at 100 percent.

Deondre Farrier was once committed to Florida, but he backed off the Gators in the spring. The 6'0", 173-pound Orlando native could opt to recommit to UF, but 247Sports shows there's an interest in USC by him. Stay tuned to see how Farrier's recruitment unfolds.

4-Star QB Deondre Francois

23 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 87 percent, while Auburn is at 13 percent.

A 4-star dual-threat quarterback, Deondre Francois is one of the last top-tier passing prospects available. The Florida native appears set to make things official with the Seminoles soon enough, but watch out for Auburn. He could emerge as one of the better quarterbacks from this class in a few years.

The Seminoles and Tigers are no strangers to having athletic quarterbacks, plus both are led by offensive-minded head coaches.

4-Star DL Neville Gallimore

24 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Oklahoma is at 33 percent, while Florida, Ohio State and Michigan State all sit at 17 percent each.

From Canada, Neville Gallimore is a 4-star defensive lineman from Ontario. He works as a defensive end/outside linebacker, but his future is inside. His crystal ball is fairly split, but the Sooners are the pick to due to their slight lead. However, don't count out the Buckeyes just yet.

At 6'3" and 300 pounds, Gallimore would be a nice fit at either school. He's an explosive defender who has a ton of upside.

5-Star QB/ATH Torrance Gibson

25 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Auburn leads with 45 percent, yet Tennessee isn't far behind at 32 percent. Ohio State is at 12 percent, with another 5 percent for Miami.

Make no mistake, this race will come down to the Tigers and Volunteers. Although Auburn is in front, the pick here is for Tennessee. Torrance Gibson is an excellent athlete who fits best in a spread offense. The Vols have recruited well at the skill positions over the years, so the 5-star Florida native will have weapons around him on Rocky Top.

5-Star DL Rasheem Green

26 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: USC is at 100 percent.

The Trojans have a lock on the crystal ball of 5-star prospect Rasheem Green. The Los Angeles native is a talented defensive lineman who seems destined to kick inside to tackle. Green, who is 6'5" and 275 pounds, is athletic enough to fit in both a 4-3 and 3-4.

USC's main competition will likely come from rival UCLA.

4-Star OLB Porter Gustin

27 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: USC is at 100 percent.

Porter Gustin is a 4-star linebacker whose stock rose in the spring. Coaches finally got ahold of his tape, which is impressive. All signs point to the Utah native opting for USC when it's all said and done. At 6'5" and 240 pounds, he would give the Trojans a versatile 'backer who can play over tight ends on the strong side.

He has a chance to be a star in college.

5-Star RB Damien Harris

28 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Ohio State is at 68 percent, with 16 percent each for Michigan and Kentucky.

A former Michigan commitment, 5-star running back Damien Harris will complete his switch by eventually signing with Ohio State. The Buckeyes are a good team for the Kentucky native, as his one-cut running style should work well in their spread-option attack.

The 5'11", 205-pounder has fine straight-line speed, plus he displays above-average hands as a receiver out of the backfield.

4-Star CB Holton Hill

29 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas is in the lead with 67 percent. Texas A&M is next at 27 percent, with 7 percent for Baylor.

A 4-star defensive back, Holton Hill will likely stay inside his native state of Texas. The Longhorns look like the team he'll join, but the Aggies have a ton of recruiting momentum right now. However, head coach Charlie Strong will convince Hill to head to Austin.

Strong's defensive background will put the 6'2", 184-pound Hill in position to be coached and developed well.

4-Star WR K.J. Hill

30 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Arkansas and Auburn are both at 50 percent.

From Arkansas, K.J. Hill is a 4-star receiver with a split crystal ball between his in-state Razorbacks and Auburn. In the end, the Tigers will prevail in this race.

Hill is a 6'0", 190-pounder who should be another gritty receiver on The Plains. As a junior, he caught 83 passes for 1,210 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns, per 247Sports.

Hill told the following to Luke Stampini of Gator Bait on April 25: “I want to take all of my officials before I make a commitment. My official will be my top five and that will be it, so probably after my senior season.”

4-Star DB DeChaun Holiday

31 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: UCLA is at 73 percent, while USC is at 27 percent.

While the crystal ball for DeChaun Holiday appears to be a race between USC and UCLA, the Bruins are far out in front for the 4-star defensive back. From California, Holiday fits best as a safety defending the seams. The 6'2", 195-pounder will be coached well in Westwood, as head coach Jim Mora is a defensive backs coach by trade.

5-Star LB John Houston

32 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Prediction: USC is at 100 percent.

A 5-star linebacker, John Houston is essentially a lock for USC. The Trojans usually take the best players from nearby Serra High School, and Houston will follow the pipeline to Troy.

Although he is light in the pants at 6'3" and 211 pounds, he runs like a deer. The Los Angeles native also has great awareness and vision, plus he is impressive in coverage. Look for him to become a starting middle 'backer at USC.

4-Star LB Ben Humphreys

33 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Stanford is at 100 percent.

While he is listed as a linebacker, 4-star recruit Ben Humphreys can also play receiver at a high level. He will play his college ball at Stanford, where he should have a solid career. He is 6'3" and 210 pounds, and it will be interesting to see what type of role he has on head coach David Shaw's defense.

The California native can work as an outside linebacker and rush the passer, but he also has the toughness to fit just fine inside.

4-Star WR Trent Irwin

34 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Arizona State is at 53 percent, while Stanford is at 47 percent.

Stanford has a real shot with 4-star receiver Trent Irwin. However, the chance to join high school teammate and 4-star quarterback Brady White at Arizona State will lead him to Tempe. At 6'2" and 190 pounds, Irwin is the most sure-handed receiver in California.

He has deceptive speed, which will help him quickly make an impact in the Sun Devils offense.

5-Star OT Martez Ivey

35 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida leads with 91 percent, while Auburn is at 9 percent.

Martez Ivey is as gifted athletically of an offensive tackle as there's been in 10 years. Florida will eventually convince him to stay in the Sunshine State, and he'll be a left tackle for the Gators.

At 6'6" and 270 pounds, he needs to improve his strength. However, he has a chance to be a similar offensive lineman to what Laremy Tunsil has become at Ole Miss.

Ivey told the following to Blake Alderman of (subscription required) on May 11: "I like Florida a lot and have gotten very close with those coaches...they are great people."

4-Star ATH Donte Jackson

36 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Oregon, LSU and Georgia are all at 33 percent.

Donte Jackson has an evenly split crystal ball, making it tough to make a firm prediction on him. The rule of thumb in these types of situations is to go with the in-state school, and that is LSU for Jackson. However, the pick here is Georgia.

The Bulldogs will pry the 5'11", 175-pound jet from the Tigers, and LSU head coach Les Miles will watch Jackson become a multipurpose threat in Athens.

4-Star RB Soso Jamabo

37 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Baylor is at 38 percent, while Oklahoma is right behind at 35 percent. After that, Texas is at 21 percent, and Texas A&M and Notre Dame are at 3 percent each.

Soso Jamabo is one of the toughest recruits to read in the country. His crystal ball features several schools, and none of them has a strong hold. In the end, look for the Texan to stay in the Lone Star State and run for Baylor.

At 6'3" and 210 pounds, he will give the Bears size in their offensive backfield. While Baylor loves tossing the ball around, the big back will be able to help the team the most in short-yardage situations.

4-Star OL Andre James

38 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Oregon leads at 89 percent. USC has the remaining 11 percent.

A Utah native, Andre James will eventually decide to block in college at Oregon. He fits the Ducks' spread attack well, as he has solid athleticism to reach linebackers on the second level in the running game. The 6'5", 275-pounder projects as a swing offensive lineman who can play guard and tackle.

5-Star LB Malik Jefferson

39 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas A&M is at 70 percent, while Texas is next at 23 percent. Baylor is last at 7 percent.

Texas may have been the early pick for 5-star linebacker Malik Jefferson, but he now is predicted to sign with Texas A&M. A phenomenal athlete, he is the type of player the Aggies need on defense.

The 6'2", 225-pounder is smart, instinctive and explosive. He is too talented not to see the field immediately in College Station.

4-Star WR Van Jefferson

40 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Ohio State is at 60 percent, followed by Tennessee at 27 percent. Penn State trails with 10 percent.

From Tennessee, 4-star receiver Van Jefferson will spurn playing in Knoxville for the chance to catch touchdowns at Ohio State.

The Buckeyes will get a long-limbed athlete with good speed at 6'2" and 176 pounds. Jefferson looks more like a true receiver than the receiver/running back hybrid prospect that OSU has put an emphasis on in recent years.

4-Star S Jaquan Johnson

41 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Miami is at 90 percent, while Florida is at 10 percent.

While Miami has a big lead in the crystal ball for Jaquan Johnson, this race could be tighter than it seems with Florida. However, the Miami native will choose to stay home in the end. At 5'10" and 180 pounds, he is a 4-star safety who is a bit undersized.

However, he is great in coverage. Johnson can walk down to sit over slot receivers and blanket them. He also is capable of playing bigger than his listed size versus the run.

5-Star WR Tyron Johnson

42 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: LSU is at 96 percent, with four percent for Texas Tech.

While the crystal ball for 5-star receiver Tyron Johnson shows LSU as the heavy favorite, it's actually expected here for him to sign with Texas Tech. The Louisiana native is one of the nation's top offensive talents, and he has a well-rounded skill set.

He will give the Red Raiders a No. 1 receiver who should be able to catch 50 passes immediately in his freshman season.

He told the following to Rob Cassidy of on June 6: "I'm leaning toward Texas Tech...They throw the ball a lot and I want to catch the ball. They show me the stats with [Michael] Crabtree and what he did there, so I like that. He's player kind of like me. So they hope I can do the same things."

4-Star WR Christian Kirk

43 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas A&M leads at 76 percent, with 15 percent for USC. Ohio State is at 6 percent, and Oregon is at 3 percent.

Christian Kirk is another talented receiver in the 2015 class. A 4-star prospect, the Arizona native warrants another star by his name. His crystal ball has Texas A&M in the lead, and that is where he will end up.

The 5'11", 195-pounder will give the Aggies yet another explosive offensive skill-position player. He is one of the top players to watch at The Opening.

4-Star RB Bryce Love

44 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: North Carolina is at 92 percent, with the final 8 percent being for South Carolina.

This race looks like it will end with North Carolina winning 4-star running back Bryce Love. The Tar Heels are a solid fit for the Wake Forest native, as he'll be a terrific third-down back for head coach Larry Fedora. At 5'9" and 180 pounds, he has the speed and quickness to make several big plays.

5-Star DE Keisean Lucier-South

45 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: UCLA is at 56 percent, and Michigan is at 40 percent. Notre Dame trails at 4 percent.

A 5-star defensive end, Keisean Lucier-South will sign with UCLA. The Bruins will receive a pure speed-rusher with great length to stand up on the edges. At 6'5" and 225 pounds, he is a California native who has great first-step quickness and range.

Look for him to be used in the same way the Bruins utilized former defensive end/outside linebacker Anthony Barr.

5-Star CB Iman Marshall

46 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: USC leads at 97 percent, and Stanford is at 3 percent.

Per his crystal ball, Iman Marshall appears to be a lock for USC. He'll likely flirt with several other programs, but he'll be a Trojan on national signing day. The big corner is 6'1" and 190 pounds, plus he plays a position of need for USC head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Marshall's size and fantastic instincts in coverage will help him make an impact in Troy as a true freshman.

4-Star LB Osa Masina

47 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Utah is at 79 percent, while UCLA is at 14 percent. BYU trails at 7 percent.

A native of Salt Lake City, 4-star recruit Osa Masina will indeed sign with Utah. Linebacker appears to be where he'll play in college, but Masina can also work as a running back. The 6'4", 230-pounder will be the best recruit the Utes have signed since joining the Pac-12, and his presence will be felt right off the bat.

4-Star LB Joshua McMillon

48 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Alabama is at 75 percent, while Ole Miss is at 25 percent.

Joshua McMillon is a big linebacker from Memphis who will sign with Alabama. At 6'3" and 249 pounds, he has the size of an inside 'backer but the agility to play on the outside. He can fit across the second level in the Crimson Tide's base 3-4 scheme, and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart will definitely get the most out of him.

4-Star RB/WR/ATH Ray-Ray McCloud III

49 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida is out in front at 53 percent. Next is Florida State at 27 percent, with 13 percent for Clemson. Kentucky and Notre Dame are last at 3 percent each.

A 4-star offensive utility player, Ray-Ray McCloud III can do a little bit of everything. His crystal ball features several schools, but the key suitors in this race are Florida, Florida State and Clemson.

The Tampa native could give the Gators an explosive punch to their offense, while the same can be said for his prospects at Clemson. Florida State would likely use the 5'9", 175-pounder as a complementary back to some of the Seminoles' bigger running backs who are already in Tallahassee.

In the end, he'll choose Florida.

5-Star DB Tarvarus McFadden

50 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 82 percent. LSU is next at 14 percent, with Auburn last at 5 percent.

Another stud from Florida, Tarvarus McFadden has a host of schools after him. He'll look into several different options, but expect him to sign with Florida State.

The Seminoles will get a big defensive back who can play corner or safety. McFadden, who is 6'3" and 198 pounds, loves to press receivers at the line in man coverage. The 5-star recruit is one of the most intriguing players in the nation.

3-Star LB Arthur McGinnis

51 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas A&M is at 100 percent.

This one could get dicey with Texas A&M, as UCLA is a real player for Arthur McGinnis, per 247Sports. However, the New Orleans native will stay somewhat close to home and be an Aggie. Defensive help is what Texas A&M needs, and the 6'1.5", 222-pound McGinnis can provide some.

Look for the 3-star 'backer to make his mark in College Station as an outside linebacker and special teams standout.

4-Star RB/WR Kirk Merritt

52 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: LSU and Texas A&M are both at 50 percent.

Kirk Merritt is one of the most athletic recruits in the nation. He hails from Louisiana and will likely choose between in-state LSU and Texas A&M. The 5'11", 206-pounder would be a nice fit in the Aggies offense, but he'll be cherished even more in Baton Rouge.

Look for him to become a threat as a receiver, runner and returner with the Tigers.

4-Star WR Ryan Newsome

53 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas leads at 72 percent, with 9 percent for Baylor. Texas Tech is at 3 percent, with another 3 percent for Oregon. Oklahoma is also in the mix.

A dangerous player with the ball in his hands, Ryan Newsome is a speedy 4-star receiver from Texas. He has several interesting options, including the chance to go be a great fit in Baylor's offense.

However, the opportunity to play in Austin for Texas will be too much to pass up. Texas will use him in the slot on offense, but plenty of fireworks will be expected from Newsome as a returner.

4-Star RB Jacques Patrick

54 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 100 percent.

With the Seminoles having the crystal ball for Jacques Patrick locked up, there's no need to go against the grain. The Orlando native is a big running back at 6'1.5" and 222 pounds, but he has surprisingly good ball skills.

Not only will the Seminoles use Patrick in the power running game, but he'll also stay on the field on third downs to contribute in the passing game.

4-Star OG Javon Patterson

55 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Ole Miss is at 56 percent, and Auburn is at 44 percent.

Javon Patterson hails from Mississippi, and he will stay in his native state by signing with Ole Miss. Auburn will give the Rebels a run for their money, but the 4-star guard will choose to block in Oxford.

Keep an eye on Patterson, as he could develop into a center or defensive tackle at 6'2" and 290 pounds.

Patterson told the following to Blake Alderman of (subscription required) on June 18: "I will make my decision in November. I want to graduate early to get a head start in college."

5-Star DT Daron Payne

56 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Alabama is at 98 percent, while 2 percent is for Auburn.

This race may be a bit tighter than his crystal ball indicates, but Daron Payne will end up at Alabama. He's a perfect fit for the Crimson Tide, as the 5-star defensive lineman can play end or nose tackle in a 3-4 alignment.

Payne's heavy hands and 6'2", 330-pound frame will help him become a starter at 'Bama.

4-Star WR Da'Vante Phillips

57 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 100 percent.

Florida State is where Da'Vante Phillips will play his college ball, and he looks like a lock for the Seminoles. The Miami native has steadily added bulk to his frame over the past year, and he is now 6'2" and 204 pounds.

Phillips is improving his physicality at the line of scrimmage. He has good speed, but his strong hands are what allow him to pluck passes on the move.

3-Star ATH Tyler Phillips

58 of 78

    No 247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions

Tyler Phillips lacks an offer, according to 247Sports. However, per Student Sports, his 141.36 SPARQ Rating is the highest on the Nike Tour this year. The 3-star athlete will likely work with the safeties in Beaverton, where a good showing should lead to his first offer.

Phillips, an Arkansas native, told the following to Otis Kirk of Hawgs247 on June 22:

My size and run support will definitely be strengths at safety. I can definitely play the run and then be a big playmaker coming downhill and making the tackle. I can really help the run and also I'm long so I think I can go up and get those jump balls when the opportunity comes.

3-Star S Justin Reid

59 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: TCU and LSU are at 50 percent.

While LSU is thick in his crystal ball, the Tigers have yet to offer Justin Reid, per 247Sports. It's tough to predict a player will sign with a school when he has yet to receive an invitation to join its program.

However, the Louisiana native does boast an offer from TCU. The Horned Frogs are wizards at turning lower-rated prospects into quality starters. Fort Worth is where Reid will be in 2015.

4-Star OT Drew Richmond

60 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Tennessee is at 46 percent, while Ohio State is at 38 percent. Ole Miss is at 8 percent, while Alabama and Memphis both are at 4 percent.

A Memphis native, Drew Richmond's crystal ball shows several programs involved. He will make his decision public on Sept. 9, per 247Sports, which is when he will announce for Tennessee. The chance to stay inside his state and block for the upstart Volunteers will win him over.

At 6'5" and 320 pounds, Richmond is a raw 4-star offensive tackle with outstanding size. With some polish, his athleticism should make him an All-SEC pick in Knoxville.

3-Star OT Dru Samia

61 of 78

    No 247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions

Dru Samia is an underrated 3-star offensive lineman who is headed to The Opening. He has offers from California, Oregon State and Colorado, per 247Sports. At 6'5" and 296 pounds, the California native has deceptively quick feet and short-area range in the trenches.

He is tough at the point of attack, evidenced by his ability to walk defensive linemen off their marks as a run-blocker. Right now, the pick here is for him to sign with California.

4-Star LB Quarte Sapp

62 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Tennessee is at 90 percent, with 10 percent for North Carolina.

Tennessee is where Quarte Sapp will play, but 247Sports shows Miami may be a more viable option for him than North Carolina. The 4-star linebacker hails from Georgia, so Tennessee head coach Butch Jones shouldn't have too much of a problem convincing him to stay in SEC country.

Sapp isn't the biggest 'backer at 6'2" and 203 pounds, but his ability to track ball-carriers with range is impressive.

4-Star RB Jordan Scarlett

63 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida State is at 86 percent, and Miami is 14 percent.

Formerly committed to Florida Atlantic, 4-star running back Jordan Scarlett is now back on the market. This one is tough to call, as Miami could win him over. However, the crystal ball leads one to believe Florida State is where he will sign.

With his combination of speed and power, the 5'11", 210-pounder is capable of making an immediate impact as a true freshman.

5-Star DT Tim Settle

64 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Alabama leads at 27 percent. Next, Clemson and Virginia are at 19 percent each. Tennessee is at 8 percent.

Tim Settle has a split crystal ball, with Alabama out in front. However, in the end, Tennessee will sign the dominant 5-star defensive tackle. The Volunteers are building a prominent defensive front, and Settle has the ability to be the unit's anchor.

At 6'3" and 318 pounds, he has strong hands. He can sit and anchor in holes, but the Virginia native also can slip through gaps.

5-Star CB Kendall Sheffield

65 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Texas A&M is at 100 percent.

Kendall Sheffield will flirt with several schools throughout the process; however, he will sign with Texas A&M next February. The Aggies offer him a chance to stay in Texas, likely play right away and compete in the SEC.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin is a smart coach, but he wouldn't be wise to keep Sheffield on the bench for long. He would be able to help Texas A&M's defense this fall, if he were eligible.

4-Star CB/WR Darius Slayton

66 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Auburn is at 100 percent.

A 4-star perimeter player, Darius Slayton can excel as a receiver or cornerback. He will sign up to play for Auburn, where he will become a big corner for the Tigers. At 6'2" and 182 pounds, the Georgia native is a good athlete who has the speed to run with anybody.

In fact, his speed is why offensive-minded head coach Gus Malzahn could opt to make him a receiver.

3-Star CB Duke Shelley

67 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Clemson is at 40 percent, while Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kansas State are all at 20 percent each.

Duke Shelley is a 3-star cornerback who isn't very big at 5'8" and 165 pounds. However, he's a true football player who does everything he has to do to get his team a win. On the recruiting front, he will likely sign with Clemson.

The Tigers are a solid fit for the Georgia native, as he'll help in the secondary and in the return game.

4-Star LB Roquan Smith

68 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Georgia is at 88 percent, while Auburn and Florida are both at 6 percent.

Roquan Smith is a Georgia native who will eventually head over to Athens and play at UGA. The Bulldogs are building a defense based on speedy players, which perfectly fits Smith's style.

The 6'2", 205-pounder has excellent short-area explosiveness to catch ball-carriers. It wouldn't be surprising to see him play across the second level before he leaves Georgia.

4-Star WR Equanimeous St. Brown

69 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Notre Dame is out in front at 50 percent. UCLA is next at 30 percent, with 20 percent for USC.

From California, UCLA and USC will be contenders for Equanimeous St. Brown. That sounds great, but Notre Dame will be the school that signs him.

The 4-star receiver is a huge target at 6'5" and 205 pounds. St. Brown may not be the fastest at his position in the country, but he's one of the best in the hands and ball-skills categories.

4-Star S Will Sunderland

70 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Oklahoma is at 91 percent, while 9 percent is for Ohio State.

It may not be 100 percent for Oklahoma, but the crystal ball for Will Sunderland might as well should be. The 4-star safety is from Oklahoma City, so playing in Norman would give him a chance to stay relatively close to home.

The Sooners will eventually land a big safety for their back end who is 6'3 and 195 pounds. Sunderland will serve as an enforcer for head coach Bob Stoops' defense.

5-Star DE Josh Sweat

71 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Virginia Tech is in front at 48 percent, and Florida State is next at 38 percent. Tennessee at 10 percent, with 5 percent for Ohio State.

Oregon and Georgia are also options for Josh Sweat, per 247Sports. However, if national signing day were today, Virginia Tech would be the pick.

Sweat is a 5-star edge defender from Virginia who has a world of talent. The 6'5", 237-pounder has similar abilities to what Jadeveon Clowney displayed in high school, and the Hokies will be able to expect production right off the bat.

3-Star WR Auden Tate

72 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Predictions: Florida State is at 42 percent, while Michigan is at 37 percent. Next is Florida at 16 percent, followed by South Carolina at 5 percent.

Auden Tate is a 3-star receiver who could be on his way to becoming a tight end. He's an intriguing prospect with several schools in his crystal ball, but Florida State will come out on top for him.

The Seminoles will beef the 6'4", 195-pounder up before turning him into a full-time tight end to work in the middle of the field.

4-Star S Marvell Tell

73 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: UCLA leads USC at 57 percent to 43.

Marvell Tell is from the San Fernando Valley area of Encino in Los Angeles. The 4-star safety's recruitment will boil down to UCLA and USC, with the Bruins winning the race. At 6'2" and 175 pounds, Tell is a lean defensive back who works with surprising physicality.

He has no problem coming into the box versus the run, but he also has solid ball skills to patrol as a single-high safety.

Tell told the following to Edward Lewis of (subscription required) on April 14: "UCLA is definitely a great place. Maybe in the future I might be a Bruin. I don't want to put it out there too much, but it's possible."

4-Star LB Adonis Thomas

74 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Florida leads at 96 percent, with 4 percent for Georgia.

From Georgia, Adonis Thomas has a crystal ball that heavily favors Florida. The Gators will pry him out of the Peach State, where his athleticism will be used on defense. The 4-star athlete is 6'4" and 215 pounds and has the makings of a solid outside linebacker.

That should bring a smile to defensive-oriented head coach Will Muschamp.

4-Star Fred Ulu-Perry

75 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Predictions: USC is at 67 percent, while Texas Tech is at 33 percent.

A 4-star center, Fred Ulu-Perry is starting to see his stock rise on the recruiting trail. His crystal ball favors USC, but 247Sports shows the Trojans have not offered him. If they do, he will be a lock to play in Troy.

However, if the talented pivot player continues on without an offer from USC, Texas Tech will benefit.

Ulu-Perry told the following to Chris Swanson of (subscription required) on June 29:

I really love the campus, it's beautiful. I really love the facilities. The weight room is really nice. They have an indoor field too. The coaches treated us like family too and I love the feel of how it was when I was at their camp. I could see myself going to USC.

4-Star RB Michael Weber

76 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Michigan State is at 84 percent, while Ohio State is at 10 percent. Wisconsin trails at 3 percent.

Michael Weber is a 4-star running back from Detroit who will run the rock for Michigan State in college. At 5'10" and 205 pounds, he is an instinctive runner who is similar to former NFL running back Curtis Martin.

He'll benefit from the run-oriented demeanor of the Spartans by producing a ton of rushing yards.

4-Star OG Darryl Williams

77 of 78

247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions: Auburn is at 91 percent, with 4 percent for Mississippi State.

Darryl Williams is a 4-star guard from Alabama who also is considering Florida State, according to 247Sports. In the end, however, Auburn will be where he elects to play.

The Tigers will squeeze him into their class, which will begin Williams' rise to becoming a starting guard on The Plains. At 6'4' and 304 pounds, he will give the Tigers another strong blocker in the trenches.
