ESPN College GameDay Will Head South for Alabama vs. Auburn Iron Bowl in Week 14
And now, for the least surprising news of the day.
ESPN'sย College GameDayย is heading to Auburn in Week 14 for the SEC West-deciding showdown between Auburn and Alabama, according to its official Twitter account:
Alabama has been No. 1 in the country from wire to wire this season, searching for its third consecutive national championship and fourth in five years. It's no surprise to see the Tide in aย GameDay game this late in the season.

Auburn is a little different. The Tigers were historically inept in 2012, going 3-9 and losing every single SEC game. That performance led to the firing of head coach Gene Chizik and tempered expectations (rightfully) for 2013.
But new head coach Gus Malzahnโa former offensive coordinator at Auburn, back when Cam Newton was in towโhas led a renaissance this season, spearheading a rushing attack that is among the nation's best. The Tigers have just one loss on the year and can win the division with a win over Alabama in Week 14.
Alabama won last year's Iron Bowl 49-0, one of the most lopsided scores in rivalry history. But seemingly everyone beat the stuffing out of Auburn last season. This is a totally different team.
Everything will be on the line at Jordan-Hare Stadium, one of the most daunting road venues in the country. If Alabama wants to complete the three-peat, it will need to earn it on the Plains.
Whoever wins will play in the SEC Championship in Atlanta, and both would have (at least) an outside shot of making the BCS National Championship.
Other GameDayย options included Ohio State at Michigan and UCLA at USC, both of which would have been good alternatives, but it's hard to argue with ESPN's choice.
We'll see you there!
