Week 10 result: USC (6-3, 3-2 Pac-12) had its most impressive win of the season, going into Corvallis and coming out with a 31-14 win at Oregon State (6-3, 4-2).
A week after managing just 30 rushing yards in a 19-3 win over Utah, the Trojans ran for 242 yards. It was a two-pronged attack, with Silas Redd (22 carries, 140 yards) and Javorius Allen (16 carries, 133 yards, three touchdowns) both running all over the Oregon State defense.
That made it so quarterback Cody Kessler didn't have to do too much, but he did more than enough with 247 yards on 17-of-21 passing and a long first-quarter TD pass to Marqise Lee, who finally looked healthy again.
And on defense the Trojans continued to play strong, holding down a potent Beavers offense by picking off FBS passing leader Sean Mannion three times.
Up next: USC remains on the road to play Saturday at California (1-8, 0-5). The Trojans have won the last nine meetings with the Golden Bears, including a 27-9 victory last September.
Notable: Because the Trojans opened the season in Hawaii, and thus exercised the option to play a 13th regular-season game, they still need to win one of their remaining four contests to be bowl-eligible. If that doesn't happen against Cal, the next-best bet is Nov. 23 at Colorado.
