Via 247Sports

The best college football recruits in the nation gather together in Oregon for Nike's 'The Opening' on a yearly basis.

The Opening invites have been sent out and the 2013 roster has been released. There's plenty to look forward to if you're a fan of college football recruiting.

Overall, 162 recruits have been invited, and many of the future stars of college football are amongst that group.

You can check out the full list of invites here and the early team rosters here, courtesy of studentsports.com. In the meantime, here's a breakdown of the rosters and a highlight or two for some of the most notable players that will be in attendance:

Rosters:

As of now, the two teams that are filling up are #AlphaPro and #Apocalypse. At the running back position, #AlphaPro has a slight edge with Jalen Hurd and Derrell Scott. That's not to take away from Joe Mixon and Royce Freeman of #Apocalypse, but Hurd, in particular, has superstar potential.

Hurd is a huge running back at 6'3'', 230 pounds, and he'll bring the power game with him to Oregon. #AlphaPro can then switch it up though with Scott, who's the No. 1 all-purpose back in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Team #Apocalypse is stacked defensively, as it features two of the best defensive recruits in the nation. The top strong-side defensive end in the nation (247Sports Composite), Da'Shawn Hand, is featured on team #Apocalpyse, as is elite linebacker recruit Raekwon McMillan

The quarterbacks for both teams are yet to be set, and team #FieldGenerals, #Landsharks, #SuperBad and #VaporCarbon still need to be filled up.

Tight end Jeb Blazevich of #Apocalpsye expressed his excitement via Twitter:

The early leader for best team overall looks to be #AlphaPro, but expect that to change as rosters fill up. Look for updates here as they do.

Update: The roster for team #FieldGenerals has been released, and it's looking great on the offensive side of the ball. Notre Dame commitment and 4-star running back/athlete Elijah Hood is the teams top running back, and he undoubtedly has star potential. He's 222 pounds and runs a 4.51 40, according to 247Sports, so he has a great combination of size and speed.

Malachi Dupre is another offensive player on the #FieldGenerals roster, and he'll definitely stand out, even amongst this group of elite players. He's 6'2'', 185 pounds and runs a 4.58 40 (247Sports). According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Dupre is the No. 2 wideout in the nation.

Team #FieldGenerals also features marquee 5-star defensive back recruits Adoree' Jackson and Jamal Adams.

Update: Team #LandSharks has been revealed, and it's hard not to notice the dominant running game that this team will possess. #LandSharks two running backs are 5-stars Dalvin Cook and Racean Thomas. Cook projects to be a stellar change-of-pace back, and he's committed to Florida. He has great speed and good footwork, so he'll be able to make a lot of defenders miss at the college level.

Speaking of jukes, Thomas has the best moves in this class. He'll provide highlight reel material on a weekly basis at the college level, so keep an eye on him at the opening.

Team #LandSharks also boast the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, 5-star Cameron Robinson

Here's a look at some of the best recruits that will be in attendance at The Opening:

Quin Blanding, 5-star S, Bayside High School (Va.) *Committed to Virginia

Blanding is the top safety recruit in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He's 6'2'', 200 pounds and runs a 4.50 40, so he has the measurables of an elite safety recruit.

He'll be able to come down into the box and be a "spill" player against the run, which means he can make plays on the ball-carrier as he spills to the outside.

That said, because of his speed and athleticism, Blanding projects to be an excellent "ball-hawk" safety. He'll be able to stay on top of routes and make plays on errant throws. In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Blanding said that his IQ and ability to read the offense is his greatest skill. He's committed to Virginia.

Andrew Brown, 5-star DT, Oscar Frommel Smith High School (Va.) #AlphaPro

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Andrew Brown is the No. 1 defensive tackle in the nation. He checks in at 6'4'', 282 pounds, but really stands out because of his fundamentals and technique.

Brown is extremely explosive out of his snap and he uses his hands to create leverage and get separation. He has elite speed for a defensive tackle, and that allows him to establish gap control, get into the backfield and make plays.

Virginia is on top of Brown's 247Sports interest list, followed by Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Virginia Tech.

David Cornwell, 4-star QB, Norman North High School (Okla.) *Committed to Alabama

David Cornwell is the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. According to the Bleacher Report positional rankings, Cornwell is the top quarterback in the 2014 class.

He has tremendous size at 6'5'', 230 pounds, and has superstar potential. Cornwell has the strongest arm in the class, but he's also accurate and can make a variety of throws. He can step into a throw and deliver a perfect pass on a line to his receiver, or he can hurl a deep ball with good arc and touch, dropping it in on a dime.

What really makes Cornwell great, though, is his ability to move in the pocket and throw on the run. Speaking of running, he can do a bit of that as well.

Cornwell is committed to Alabama.
