AP College Football Poll 2012: Complete Week 12 Standings Released
There is a changing of the guard in college football as we approach Week 12, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Texas A&M and quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Manziel, the freshman quarterback, had by far the best game of his young career in leading the Aggies into Tuscaloosa and knocking off previously unbeaten and top-ranked Alabama. The Crimson Tide made things interesting at the end, but things did not break their way for the first time in a long time.
Alabama's loss has opened the door for Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame as they compete to play in the BCS National Championship Game. There are still two weeks left to decide who will meet in that game, but it will take a lot of things to go right for Nick Saban's bunch to have a shot to repeat as champions.
Looking at other games from Week 11, Florida was able to complete its miracle comeback against Louisiana-Lafayette; however, thanks to Georgia's win at Auburn, the Gators will be sitting at home when the SEC championship game is played.
Nebraska was up to its old tricks on Saturday, falling behind by two touchdowns against Penn State in the first half before scoring 26 points in the second half to keep its Big Ten championship game hopes alive.
