Alabama Crimson Tide fans have finally gotten their wish with the news that Bo Scarborough will reportedly commit to play for their team.
Shane Youngblood of 247sports.com broke the news via Twitter:
Confirming that five-star athlete Bo Scarborough has committed to Alabama.— Shane Youngblood (@shaneyoungblood) September 8, 2012
As mentioned in Youngblood's tweet, Scarborough is a 5-star athlete. He is also one of Alabama's own, having went to high school in Tuscaloosa.
Scarborough stands at about 6'2" and 215 pounds while running the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds, per Doug Segrest of The Birmingham News.
While he already has good size and speed for a running back, there's a great chance Scarborough's growing body isn't finished just yet. It is feasible to expect that Scarborough could gain another inch or two in the next few years.
That leaves his ultimate position up in the air for Saban's squad, but there's no doubt this guy is a gifted athlete no matter where he is on the field. Alabama fans can look for Scarborough to make an immediate impact on their team when he finally gets to college in 2014.
A past knee injury is the only possible concern for Scarborough's future in football. However, according to a report by Josh Bean of the Press-Register, Scarborough is confident he will be just fine and better than ever.
The Crimson Tide have been well-known for their great defense under Coach Saban, but Scarborough's future presence on this team will ensure that 'Bama will have some explosive weapons for their future quarterbacks to give the ball to—whether it's on the ground or through the air.
