Rutgers Football: 3-Star Recruit Moise Larose Brings Total for 2013 Season to 15

Mark BatorAug 2, 2012

Following on the heels of defensive lineman Jamil Pollard's decision to transfer from Penn State to Rutgers for 2012, the Scarlet Knights got more good news regarding their future as another talented prospect has chosen to play "on the banks" in 2013.

Moise Larose, a 3-star [Scout.com] offensive tackle recruit from Ft. Meade, Maryland, has given his commitment to the Knights as of August 1.

At 6'5", 285 pounds, Larose has a 5.0 time in the 40-yard dash. He received interest from other schools, such as Navy, Old Dominion and Delaware, before deciding on Rutgers, according to a report by The Star-Ledger's Tom Luicci [posted on NJ.com].

"He's a bit of a mystery," says recruiting analyst Bobby Deren of ScarletNation.com [as quoted on NJ.com], "because he really wasn't involved in the recruiting process. He's a freakish athlete with good size but he was under-recruited."

In addition, Larose had apparently received offers from Boston College, Duke, East Carolina and Maryland, according to 247Sports.com.

Larose is the first offensive tackle recruit the Knights have secured for 2013.

Larose's commitment brings the total 2013 commitments for Rutgers to 15, yet none of the incoming class have higher than a 3-star rating.
