Tight end Tyson Hetzer—a juco transfer who joined the Nebraska program last January—is set to transfer to another school. Hetzer missed spring practice last year with a knee injury and didn’t make the 105-man roster for the start of fall camp. Hetzer has one remaining season of eligibility left.

Also, wide receiver Matt Donahue—who joined the team last January as a walk-on after playing as a true freshman at Ohio—is turning his attention to track at NU. He’ll no longer play football.

"A couple of NFL teams have contacted my offensive coordinator (Shawn Watson) at Nebraska," Ganz said. "I’m going to train for the (NFL Scouting) Combine and hopefully receive an invitation to attend. Whether I get drafted or sign as a free agent, I’d just like a chance. I want to delay the real world thing as long as I can.

"I’m definitely up for the NFL."
