Hottest Sports Stories for Thursday, Nov. 10

Well, as for the biggest sports stories of the day, it goes like this. Joe Paterno was fired, and then some other stuff probably happened.

Welcome to the Daily Radar, the only place that will attempt to brighten your day during this very odd time in sports history. Leave your comments on what will be a crazy day of sports.

Let's Dish.

In this edition:

TOM BRADLEY GETS THROWN TO THE WOLVES, A.K.A THE MEDIA

Patrick Smith/Getty Images

In what has to be the most difficult day of his professional life, Tom Bradley was introduced as interim head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions. He held his first press conference but did not say anything about the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What happens to the team the rest of the season?

Our Take: I don't know how these players are going to be able to play three regular season games, a potential conference championship game and bowl game considering all the questions that they will be asked. Right now, everything is business as usual. But things seem to be changing on a daily basis.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Uninteresting Press Conference Quotes

We have all been waiting impatiently to hear something from anyone associated with the Penn State football program, and even though we did not get any answers to pertinent questions, at least we got something.

WASHINGTON NATIONALS CATCHER WILSON RAMOS KIDNAPPED

Greg Fiume/Getty Images

In a shocking story that broke late Wednesday, rookie catcher Wilson Ramos was kidnapped from his home in Venezuela.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Why in the world is this happening to Ramos?

Our Take: There is no reason for this to be happening. He lives in Venezuela, a country famous for kidnappings for ransom. We don't know a lot about the situation right now, but you hope and pray that Ramos is okay.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Life Is More Important Than Sports Moments

Ramos is one of the best young catchers in baseball, but none of that matters right now. A 24-year-old's life hangs in the balance because of a sick, disturbed group of people.

PENN STATE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN

This is the point where I give you a light-hearted quip or smart-ass comment. Let's do something different. Joe Paterno, a legendary coach, and has been fired. I do not feel bad for him.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Did Penn State rush to judgement?

Our Take: When you consider the amount of power that Joe Paterno had as a heroic figure at a football campus, you begin to feel anger at the amount of help he lent to little boys that were allegedly sodomized by a monster.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Truly Somber Moments

This was not a moment to applaud or celebrate. Joe Paterno needed to go, but that doesn't mean his departure is easy for any of us. The mixed emotions in all of us will continue well into the winter. The effects on this program are unfathomable.

PENN STATE STUDENTS RALLY THEN RIOT IN NAME OF PATERNO

Patrick Smith/Getty Images

They chose to attend a school whose image was more Joe Paterno than Nittany Lions. So it is understandable that they would come out in droves to support a man that allegedly did the bare minimum to report sexual abuse on minors, but it doesn't make it right.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How much worse can it get?

Our Take: There needs to be more dismissals and Jerry Sandusky will get his trial, but the healing can start on campus. The transition that will take years can begin in earnest. Most importantly, with Paterno and Spanier out, the focus can finally be placed back on the true villain in all this, Jerry Sandusky.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Misguided Energys

For days, the students will harbor ill will that Paterno got a raw deal. The fact is he needed to go the minute the board found enough finding that it was necessary. Whether it was done by phone or not is the very least important aspect of this whole ordeal.

Those asking for Mike McQueary's head. Relax. It is clear Penn State is working their way from the top down...I hope.

NBA PLAYERS AND OWNERS HAVE SIT IN OF THEIR OWN

Patrick McDermott/Getty Images

Sigh. Now onto lighter issues of the day, like the possible destruction of the NBA season. What I would do for a story on Eddy Curry eating a meatball sandwich right now.

Question on Everybody's Mind: I don't want to ask, but is there any hope?

Favorite Moment of Bad Boys II Was...

Submit Vote vote to see results

Our Take: Actually, yes. You can consider David Stern's ultimatum like the scene in Bad Boys II when you just knew things were about to go down...or more like this scene. David Stern is obviously Martin Lawrence and Derek Fisher is Will Smith.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Bad Boys for Lifes

Let's be honest. Even if David Stern came out and took a giant doo-doo on the streets of New York, the NBA would be buried under the huge story unfolding in not so Happy Valley.

BUCCANEERS WOULD LIKE SOME JUNK FOR THEIR TRUNK

Handout/Getty Images

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are some crazy and brash mofos. They believe they can succeed where the Patriots failed and picked up the big man Albert Haynesworth.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Haynesworth succeed in Tampa Bay?

Our Take: No, and that was a dumb question.

Hype Meter: 1 out of 5 Lap Bands

I used to play a game with my little brother wherein I would smack his face with his own hand and shout, "stop hitting yourself." NFL teams are apparently fond of he same game. Good luck, Bucs.

ASHTON KUTCHER IS AN IDIOT

Mr. Demi Moore tweeted that the JoePa firing was a travesty. He was then alerted to why and immediately took down the tweet. The rundown can be found here.

The Obvious Question: Does Ashton Kutcher not get the Internet? How do you not hear about the Penn State scandal? Why comment on something you have no knowledge of? How is Demi Moore still hot?

ST. JOHN'S HAS GOD'SGIFT TO BASKETBALL

God'sgift Achiuwa had 21 points in St. John's victory over Lehigh Wednesday.

The Obvious Statement: Mr. Achiuwa has the ability to be God'sgift to everything; basketball, walking, eating, women. When someone asks, "What are you God'sgift?" He can say, "yes, I am."
