Jason Terry Exclusive Interview: Mavericks Guard Speaks About Reebok's ZigSlash

I had the opportunity to speak with Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks yesterday.  In addition to talking about this year's playoffs, we discussed one of the hottest basketball shoes on the market right now.

As you can see from the Sports Illustrated cover, Terry proudly sported a custom pair of ZigSlash shoes as the Mavericks ran past the former champion Los Angeles Lakers in a second-round sweep.

When I first asked Terry about the shoes, he adamantly replied, "This is a great shoe!"

He had nothing but good things to say, adding, "Reebok Zig Energy is something I’ve never felt in a shoe that I’ve played in, performance wise, and then even with the look."

In terms of performance, Reebok's "Zig" technology has had people buzzing ever since the company released the first pair.

On Amazon.com, a few different variations of Zig Energy shoes (including the ZigSlash) have received an average customer rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Terry agrees with those customers, he added, "Performance wise, they’re one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever played in."

That great comfort is due to Reebok's Zig technology.  The company explains the technology on their website:

With Terry giving me nothing but rave reviews on the ZigSlash shoes, it got me wondering what they might do for me.

I asked Terry if he'd recommend the shoe to me.  He replied, "No question.  I don’t know what your game is like, but I know what it will be with the ZigTechs on."

Performance is important, but most people want a shoe that looks good too.  The ZigSlash shoes have a very unique look that can be tailored to the individual customer through Reebok's customization tools.

After playing around with Reebok's online application, I was very impressed with the level of customization I was able to reach.

There is no doubt that the ZigSlash is one of the hottest shoes out there right now.  They helped Jason Terry and the Mavericks upend the Lakers, and I look forward to seeing just how far they'll carry "The Jet" in 2011.
