Cousins Has History with Achilles Injuries
Sunday, Nov. 1
RotoWire.com's Jeff Stotts provided an overview of Cousins' history of Achilles injuries:
Cousins Is Essential to Young Kings
Simply put, Cousins has emerged as one of the NBA's most versatile and valuable players over the past few seasons.
During a 2014-15 campaign that saw Cousins battle viral meningitis and an array of ankle and leg injuries, the big man averaged 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 steals while being named to his first All-Star team.
And while the Kings were largely overlooked as they won fewer than 30 games for the seventh consecutive season, Cousins' numbers proved to be historic.
According to Basketball-Reference.com, Cousins joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Bob McAdoo, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson as the only players in league history to average at least 24 points, 12 rebounds, three dimes and a block over the course of a season.
As that production revealed, Cousins is locked in as the fulcrum of Sacramento's offense and defense.
