NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Interested in Andrew Bogut
According to Marcus Thompson III of the Contra Costa Times, the Warriors are reportedly interested in the center to address their need in the post, a position that has not been legitimately filled for several years.
Bogut reportedly requested a trade from the Bucks last week.
The Warriors have previously made plays for big men Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan between last offseason and now, but have yet to find success in landing a deal.
The deal for Bogut would be perceived to include Andris Biedrins and some kind of scoring guard, which the Bucks are in dire need of to help out Brandon Jennings in the backcourt.
The perceived deal is not expected to include Monta Ellis.
However, the Warriors would need to take a lot off the Bucks' hands for this to happen. First on that list would be acquiring Stephen Jackson, which was nixed before the speculation even existed.
A player the Warriors would have to pick up, according to Thompson, would be forward Drew Gordon, who is having a nice year averaging 14 points and six rebounds this season. He is also a Bay Area guy with ties to the Oakland area growing up.
This speculated deal is probably not going to happen unless either team's roster changes over the next couple of weeks. Bogut's asking price is far too high for the Warriors to bite on, and Golden State would also inherit the burden of taking on a disgruntled Milwaukee player.
Other than Biedrins, I am not sure there is much else the Warriors can offer that would suffice at this moment in the NBA season.
