NBA Trade Rumors: 3 Portland Trail Blazers Who Could Be on the Move
With the 2012 NBA trade deadline just eight days away, things are about to get interesting. One of the prime candidates to amp up the drama? The underachieving Portland Trailblazers.
Despite possessing a surplus of talent, the Blazers have lost nine of their past 14 games. They sit at 19-19 overall, placing them a game and a half behind the Denver Nuggets for eighth out West.
While some may view the potential trades as a premature evaluation of new talent, others are calling for the dismissal of at least two high profile names. Quietly but surely, a third name could go along with them.
Jamal Crawford, Guard
1 of 3NBC Sports has reported via Hoopsworld’s Yannis Koutroupis, that numerous teams are in hot pursuit of combo guard Jamal Crawford. According to CBS Sports, Crawford is available.
The 12th year guard out of Michigan has posted season averages of 14.5 points, 3.9 assists and 2.0 rebounds. Considering he's doing that in just 26.7 minutes per contest, it's not hard to see why so many teams are interested in his services.
Possible Suitor(s): Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors.
Raymond Felton, Point Guard
2 of 3According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, sources have told CSNWW.com that the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trailblazers have engaged in "exploratory talks" on swapping point guards Raymond Felton and Steve Blake.
With the Lakers in dire need of a true point guard and Felton falling out of favor in Portland, there isn't much standing in the way of getting this deal done. As long as the Lakers remain interested, this is a move to watch.
Possible Suitor(s): Los Angeles Lakers
Gerald Wallace, Forward
3 of 3According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, the Portland Trailblazers are willing to move Gerald Wallace. Fortunately for Blazers' fans, the list of possible destinations is quite short.
If the Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets are unable to make a deal for Dwight Howard, Wallace is likely to stay put. However, if Howard is shipped off to New Jersey, there is an outside chance that Wallace joins Brook Lopez in Orlando.
Considering Lopez just went down with another injury, it appears Howard, and Wallace, may be staying put.
Possible Suitor(s): Orlando Magic
