NBA Trade Rumors: Latest Updates on the Hottest Trade Rumors

Carlos SandovalJun 7, 2018

The NBA is officially locked out, but that doesn't stop NBA rumors about some of the biggest, juiciest trades in the league being talked about.

Some of the NBA's marquee players are on the block, and when the Association went dark, all rumors became just that—rumors. No team can take action, no player can communicate with his team, and so on and so forth.

Of course, people still get to ask players about their futures, and sometimes, these players respond honestly. Additionally, other NBA insiders will have the latest, quietest scoop on where the biggest trade rumors stand.

Here are some of the latest updates on this offseason's hottest trade rumors.

Dwight Howard Will 'Never' Become a Miami Heat

1 of 5

One of the most far-fetched rumors the NBA had to offer included a possible trade between the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, primarily involving Dwight Howard and one of the Big Three.

Of course, Dwight Howard isn't all too interested. Here's an excerpt from ESPN.com's article on Superman's appearance at Comic-Con:

"

Until then, however, there's plenty of basketball to be played and questions to be answered, such as:

• What about the Lakers? "That's everybody's question," he told the "Kick" audience. "I am wearing purple … but that's Rock's outfit."

• The Heat? "Never."

"

That's definitive. No matter how crazy the rumor, you don't expect players to rule out the possibilities they have when it comes to movement.

Andre Iguodala Says He Wants to Stay in Philadelphia

2 of 5

Andre Iguodala was one of the biggest names that garnered a lot of buzz during the draft (and for sometime after)—he was rumored to be dealt to the Lakers, and anytime the Los Angeles market is involved, people will swarm.

However, Andre Iguodala would like to spoil your hopes for seeing a huge trade sent his way. From CSNPhilly.com

"

“I definitely enjoy being here,” Iguodala said at a local basketball camp on Saturday. “Evan [Turner] and I were speaking late last night. We had a really good conversation about how we can really play well together, how we can make each other better so we are looking forward to next year. We even talked about what we were going to do after practice next year. So I am definitely looking forward to improving myself and playing ball.”

"

I like it when players are loyal to their teams, or at least pretend to be. A.I. is definitely looking the part, so this is good news.

Overall, Andre Iguodala has no real say in whether he gets traded or not. But if he decides to try and sway his bosses to keep him in Philly, that will be huge.

Kevin Love Is Proud to Be a Timberwolf, but Doesn't Close Door to Los Angeles

3 of 5

Kevin Love had a ton of rumors swirling around him before the draft, with Pau Gasol rumored to be the guy he gets swapped for.

Now, it doesn't seem likely that the Minnesota Timberwolves will deal him when the lockout is over. And even if they do, Kevin Love wouldn't be open to it...right now. From ESPN.com

"

Kevin Love: [...] To be back in LA, where I was born, where I have a ton of family support and friends from UCLA and beyond? In good time. But as far as right now? I'm proud to be with the Timberwolves and we're going to try to turn that organization around.

"

I guess it's not a big deal as to what Kevin Love will do in three years—he's a great player, sure, but no one thinks he's a franchise player—not even Kevin Love believes Kevin Love is a franchise player.

Regardless, Kevin Love hasn't closed doors on a possible trade to Los Angeles. He basically gave reasons as to why he would like to go there. But still, he did say he was committed to trying to turn around the Timberwolves organization.

Good luck with that.

Andrew Bogut Probably Won't Be Traded

4 of 5

Andrew Bogut was at the center of a ton of trade rumors during the NBA draft last month.

Since that time, Bogut spoke about what went on with those trade rumors. From HoopsHype.com

"

Andrew Bogut: "John Hammond called straight away when the report came out telling that it was false. I can only take their word for it, but I also understand the NBA is a business more than anything else and you have to remember you can be gone tomorrow."

"

Andrew Bogut basically dispelled the trade rumors surrounding him by telling HoopsHype about the reassurance he got from the bros upstairs.

That isn't truly telling of whether he'll get traded, but odds are, the Milwaukee Bucks will keep him in silly Wisconsin.

Mareese Speights Might Get Dealt

5 of 5

Marresse Speights may not have been a marquee name in the weeks leading up to the lockout, but he's a center who isn't terrible, and not terrible centers are generally coveted in the NBA.

Speights is actually on the trading block, courtesy the Philadelphia 76ers.

Speights didn't do amazingly well in Philly, but the bro got the job done at times.
