Orlando Magic Trade Rumors: Why Dwight Howard Should Have Say in Trade Talks
Dwight Howard is easily the best center in the NBA as well as the biggest star in Orlando, next to Mickey Mouse.
The Orlando Magic are trying to keep him on their team, but the big man will wait until after this season to sign a contract extension.
Howard has every right to test the free agent market, and he also has the right to tell people he wants to have a say in team trades.

The center has stated he wants to remain with the Magic, but we all know they're not going to contend in the Eastern Conference unless they make some moves. ย
The 6'11" Atlanta native was on a Atlanta sports radio station recently, and heย toldย them he wants to be more involved in whatever trade talks the Magic have.
""I wanted to be more part of the process a little more," Howard said. "I had to step out on the court and I wanted to make sure that the people I played with wanted to go out and play hard every night.
"My only issue was the fact that I didn't really have a chance to be involved, but I think with the guys that we brought in we still have an excellent chance of winning, but we all have to be on the same page."

It's risky to go out in public and broadcast that you want to be involved in the deals your team makes. However, Howard is a huge star and is valuable to the team, so he deserves a shot at giving his input on trade talks.
If the Magic truly wish to keep Howard they will do anything and everything that he wants. He sure is going to have a lot of fun in the next year because he has the Magic eating out of the palm of his hand.
You can't really blame Orlando too much because they are nothing without him, and they don't want to lose him. If the Magic get fed up with Howard then they can always trade him, but they don't want to do that.
It's a tough situation to be in, but the Magic will cave and let Howard contribute some with trade talks.
The only problem is that the Magic don't really have many trade chips. Jameer Nelson, Gilbert Arenas, J.J. Redick and Jason Richardson are the best options, and they aren't going to entice very many teams.ย
Even if a team is interested in any of those players, Orlando won't be getting much in return. Howard certainly deserves a say in the Magic trade talks, but nobody really knows how much talking is going on in Orlando. ย
