LeBron James, Floyd Mayweather and the Biggest Whiners in Sports
When people think of sports, the images that come to mind are of the toughest athletes in the world competing in some of the fiercest battles.
What we don’t think about is people crying and complaining about every call that doesn’t go their way. Those kinds of athletes have been classified as “whiners”.
These whiners are the biggest reason that sports get a bad rap at times, and the entire sports world would be better off if these athletes just kept their mouths shut and played.
As the old saying goes: when the going gets tough, complain until they turn the call to your favor.
The following list is of the top-5 biggest whiners the sports world currently has. Enjoy!
5. Kobe Bryant
1 of 5
When it comes to complaining about calls during a game, there is no one who does it quite as much as Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.
The Lakers star is always letting the referees know that he doesn’t like what they’re doing, even if it means using sexually insensitive remarks to convey his points.
While we can’t argue with the fact that he wins, there is something to be said when your coach calls you “uncoachable” and big stars like Shaquille O’Neal publicly denounce you.
No matter what people say about Kobe, he will always show his true colors in the most dire of situations.
4. Al Davis

Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis is one of the most controversial figures in NFL history, and the truth is, Davis is just plain crazy now.
For his entire life in the NFL, Davis has been at odds with the league, including several incidents in which Davis sued the league for violating anti-trust laws.
Besides the feuds with numerous head coaches over the years, it was Davis’ feud with former NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle that was voted the greatest feud in NFL history on the NFL Network's Top Ten Feuds.
The Raiders were always one of the most feared teams in the league because their owner was one of the most feared people in the NFL, and boy could he whine.
3. Floyd Mayweather

With the sport of boxing on the ropes, the fans need a huge fight to draw them back to the sport.
That fight is just a stone’s throw away, but somebody keeps letting their ego get in the way, and it didn’t just start there for Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Hardly a fight went by during his career when he wasn’t complaining endlessly to the referee, his corner men and anyone who would listen to him.
Mayweather may never fight Manny Pacquiao, but he will always be one of the pound-for-pound biggest whiners in sports.
2. LeBron James
4 of 5
This is one of those slides that doesn’t need much explaining, but I’ll do my best to keep this from turning into me bashing LeBron.
LeBron James is the best athlete in the NBA, but he has a tendency to blame everyone else when things go wrong.
As we saw this season in the NBA Finals, LeBron is as soft as a pillow mentally, and he won’t rest until everyone not associated with the Heat are as miserable as he is.
When it comes to on-the-court complaining, James is second to none, and if you watch all of his games, you will see him in the referee’s ear the whole time.
1. Sidney Crosby
5 of 5
There is no player in any sport that cries and complains like Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby.
There isn’t a game that goes by where Crosby isn’t faking penalties or complaining about non-calls, and nothing angers hockey players more than actors on the ice.
Crosby is the best NHL player by far, so he really doesn’t need to embellish or continually whine about every call, but don’t tell him that.
Besides milking injuries, Crosby has pissed off every player in the league. It’s no wonder people try their hardest to punish him as often as possible.
