Dallas Mavericks Parade 2011: Date, Time, Route and More

The Dallas Mavericks are officially 2011 NBA champions and their victory parade is set for Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 AM local time.

After defeating the superteam Miami Heat in six games, the Mavericks are about to enter into a summer of celebration that is very rightfully deserved.

It was a highly intriguing battle between two teams that are constructed with completely different blueprints. While the Heat have LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to create the "Big Three," the Mavericks stood behind superstar Dirk Nowitzki and built a true team to support him. 

The parade will feature the Mavericks in all of their glory as they tour around Dallas, beginning from City Hall and moving all the way to the American Airlines Center (AAC).

Team owner Mark Cuban has already gone on the record stating that he plans to foot the bill for the parade, as the city is already in a budget crisis as it currently stands.

There isn't a great concern about a potentially rowdy crowd, and the city seems confident that they can plan a safe, fun parade for both the team and their fans, according to the Dallas Morning News.

"Sunday’s Mavs championship victory is a franchise first, and the team’s broad fan base could attract more than the immigration rally, some officials estimate. If the hours after the historic win are any indication, the Mavs parade will probably be fun but not out of hand."

It's pretty remarkable that Cuban has agreed to pay for the parade on his own rather than force the taxpayers to shell out the money, and it's another reminder as to why he's one of the best owners in professional sports.

He's really rewarding a loyal fanbase that has stuck with the team through thick and thin, and now that they are on top of the world as NBA champions, Cuban is right there with 'em on cloud nine.
