LeBron James is one of the most controversial superstars in any sport, and his legacy of controversy has now added a new chapter.

After the Miami Heat lost in the NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks last night, James took the podium to address the media.

During that press conference, James felt it was necessary to speak his mind and promptly throw all of the people that didn’t like him and his Decision under the bus.

James told the media that the people will have the same lives they had before they woke up that day, and that all of their personal problems that were in there lives before will still be there. He then told the room full of reporters that he was happy with his life, and he will live his life how he wants to.

Where did all of this defensiveness come from?

LeBron James has become the joke for the NBA because he keeps answering questions like this. If he wanted to stop all of the controversy that seems to follow him everywhere, he should stop playing into the media’s game.

As media members, our job is to get the best stories and find the best angles to present them, and when a star player comes up so small in fourth quarters, it’s easy to see that as a problem, especially in the NBA Finals.

While he may blame everyone else, James has made himself into the villain of the NBA by leaving Cleveland the way he did and making a spectacle of himself at the Miami pep rally.

Usually the qualities of taking less money and being unselfish are looked at highly in sports, but James has shown that if you go about it in the wrong way, it can all backfire.

I have no doubt that the Miami Heat will win a title or two in the next few seasons, but they will always be the team that everyone looks down on because they whine too much.
