NBA Draft 2011: Right Around The Corner
Now that the NBA season is officially over—and a crippling lockout might be on the horizon—fans can turn their attention to draft.
It's not quite the same nation-wide spectacle as the NFL draft, but it's getting there.
ESPN will have live coverage at 7 p.m. on June 23.
There will also be live streaming available on NBA.com.
NBA Draft Order
It's going to be a good few weeks for Cleveland Cavalier fans.
Having witnessed their former hero, LeBron James, fall flat on his face in the 2011 NBA Finals, they will see their team not only kick off the NBA draft with the first overall choice, but land the fourth overall pick.
In between, the Minnesota Timberwolves pick second, followed by the Utah Jazz, who go third. After Cleveland goes in the four spot, the Toronto Raptors go fifth.
Duke's Kyrie Irving is looking like the clear cut favorite to be Cleveland's top choice, but that's far from a certainty. Derrick Williams from Arizona should be considered a possibility. That scenario would shake things up enormously and add even more confusion to an already murky draft.
According to ESPN's Chad Ford, one GM already said, "I know who is going [Nos.] 1 and 2]. After that, I don't have a clue."
Either way, there should be some pretty irritable New York Knicks fans when they select 17th overall.
