According to Yahoo! Sports, New Orleans Hornets star point guard Chris Paul suffered a head injury and was taken to a Cleveland hospital on Sunday night.

The star guard injured his head in the third quarter in the Hornets' game against the Cavaliers and was taken off the court in a stretcher.

Paul apparently lost control of the ball as he entered the lane, and then collided with Cleveland guard Ramon Sessions before hitting the floor. Paul remained on the floor while New Orleans staff and trainers attended to him, and then he was placed on a stretcher.

According to the report, Paul was moving his arms and legs and was responsive on the way to the hospital. Paul had 13 points and 11 assists in just 26 minutes for the Hornets, following a breakout game the night before after vowing he would raise his level of play.

Paul has endured a poor stretch of three games where he could not find his shooting touch and failed to score more than seven points in three consecutive games. The Hornets lost all three games during the star's shooting slump.
