Trade rumors always seem to swirl as the trade deadline nears.

This year, though, no trade rumors have been discussed more than Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets.  There are reports of him going here or going there but which rumors are true?  In this slide show I will try to make sense of it all.

5: Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are a terrible team.  However, they're also a very young team, a fact lost on many NBA fans.

They have Monta Ellis, Dorrell Wright, David Lee, and Stephan Curry who are all all still very young and talented.  I don't think Melo will want to go here

The reason I'm saying Carmelo might go to the Warriors at the trade deadline is becuase they want to get a superstar on their roster.

All in all I doubt a trade between Golden State and Denver happens, but there is always a chance.

Possible Trade:  The Nuggets get Stephen Curry, Vladimir Radmanovic, and draft picks and Golden State gets Carmelo Anthony.

4: Portland Trail Blazers

PHOENIX - DECEMBER 10: Brandon Roy #7 of the Portland Trail Blazers shoots a free throw shot during the NBA game against the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center on December 10, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Trail Blazers defeated the Suns 101-94. NOTE TO

The Blazers need another good player to go along with Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. Plus, it seems Roy get hurts all the time so they will need more production from other players.

Anthony can solve both of these needs for the Blazers.

The Nuggets like young players and expiring contracts on the Portland squad like Nicolas Batum and Joel Przybilla.  This trade may happen but it depends if the Blazers are willing to give up Batum.

Possible Trade: Denver gets Nicolas Batum, Andre Miller, Joel Przybilla, and draft picks and Portland gets Carmelo Anthony and Al Harrington

3: New Jersey Nets

NEW ORLEANS, LA - DECEMBER 22: Devin Harris #34 of the New Jersey Nets drives the ball around Jarrett Jack #2 of the New Orleans Hornets at the New Orleans Arena on December 22, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Hornets defeated the Nets 105-91.

I know the Nets owner said they weren't going to continue talks with the Nuggets, but in a couple of weeks or so if he is still in Denver the Nets might try to get 'Melo for less.

The huge blockbuster three—team deal could shrink to a two team deal and maybe cut out some players.  These changes could make this trade more interesting and an easier swap.  This trade is a likely possibility.

Possible Trade: Nuggets get Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow, Derrick Favors, and draft picks

Nets get Carmelo Anthony and Chancey Billups

2: Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have a good young team with Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah.  If the Bulls got Anthony they would be an amazing team.

The reason this deal may not happen is because the Bulls have no young players to give up in a trade.  They have Loul Deng (who I personally think is a pure beast) but it seems like the Nuggets have no interest in him and his above average contract.

The only other player on there roster the Nuggets might want is Taj Gibson but hes not the great young player the Nuggets were hoping for either.  If he got traded to the Bulls I imagine he would stay there, but with the lack of pieces the Nuggets could get in return I don't really see this deal happening.

Possible Trade:  Nuggets get Loul Deng(Beast), Taj Gibson, and draft picks for Carmelo Anthony

1: Houston Rockets

LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 22: Kevin Martin #12 of the Houston Rockets reaches to control the ball in front of Eric Gordon #10 of the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on December 22, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. NOTE TO USER: User expressly ac

The Rockets have had a below average season so far.  They would like to make a playoff run though.

A way for that to happen is to go out and get Carmelo Anthony.  The Rockets have great pieces for this trade like expiring contracts and young players.

The only thing that would prevent this trade from happening is that the Rockets don't know if Anthony will sign an extension. He said he would only sign with the Knicks and possibly the Bulls, but if the Rockets get and him make a good run at the playoffs he may end up staying there.

The Rockets could still also just use him as a rental and if he signs with the Knicks they could get something out of a sign and trade.  The Rockets should at least take a shot because they have a good team to go along with Anthony with players like Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks, and Luis Scola.  I think in the end Anthony will be traded to the Rockets if not the Knicks.

Possible Trade: Nuggets get Yao Ming(expiring contract), Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill, and draft picks for Carmelo Anthony and Al Harrington
