NBA Trade Rumors: Gerald Wallace and DJ Augustin to The Portland Trail Blazers?
Yet another in a flurry of trade rumors coming out of Charlotte has been reported.
This time it involves the Charlotte Bobcats trading with the Portland Trail Blazers.
The alleged trade is Gerald Wallace, Desagana Diop and DJ Augustin to Portland for Marcus Camby and Andre Miller.

This is another trade that the Bobcats are going for which proves that Michael Jordan is not happy with the current roster and especially the starting point guard.
Recently, the Bobcats were pursuing Baron Davis and now they want Andre Miller. The thought process in Charlotte is clear: They want a proven point guard with veteran experience leading the team, not a young point guard like Augustin.
They are also very weak at the center position, with only Nazr Mohammed and Kwame Brown to rely on—that brings the veteran Marcus Camby into the discussions.
This trade does not seem very helpful for the Trail Blazers though; they would be losing two key players for an All-Star small forward in Gerald Wallace, but they already have Nicolas Batum who they are relying on for the future. DJ Augustin would replace Andre Miller in the starting lineup and that is a downgrade.
At center, we would be left with Joel Przybilla and Sean Marks; LaMarcus Aldridge would have to play even more minutes at the center spot.
Not a very enticing option for the Trail Blazers.
Besides messing up the rotation, it would also ruin the Trail Blazers cap space. Andre Miller can be a free agent after this season, which would free up space for the Trail Blazers to pursue a younger point guard for the team. However, with this trade, they would be stuck with three long term contracts with all three players.
So, even though Gerald Wallace would be a great addition to the team, I seriously doubt this trade goes through from the Portland side.
It would just weaken the point guard and center positions for the team too much, which might result in Portland missing the playoffs this season.
