Updated Fantasy Football Rankings at Week 11: Top 50 QB's for the Rest of 2010
Once considered a lock as a top-three quarterback for 2010, Drew Brees’ value is now at a season low. While he continues to throw for good yardage and a solid number of touchdowns, it is becoming increasingly obvious that something is wrong with his accuracy.
Brees has thrown 10 interceptions in his past five games and has hit 20 fantasy points only three times in 2010. He is certainly not losing people their fantasy games, but his interceptions are a concern for those in leagues that heavily penalize for negative plays. On the flip side, of course, Brees remains an elite quarterback in leagues that do not penalize for interceptions.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton is among the most surprising, yet most consistent fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL this season. With 13 points being his worst game of the season, Orton has carried many of the fantasy owners who have been gutsy enough to start him this year, even against perceived-to-be tough defenses.
Orton is coming off his best fantasy game of the season last week against the Chiefs in Week 10 when he threw for nearly 300 yards with a season-high four touchdowns and no interceptions. The only concern with Orton at this point is how much of an impact rookie Tim Tebow is beginning to have in the offense.
I predicted before the season started that the Broncos would eventually use Tebow as a “goal line” quarterback, and they have started to do so over the past few weeks. Tebow threw for and ran for a touchdown as the Broncos thrashed the Chiefs.
While it looks like Orton will remain the starter, Tebow’s emergence near the goal line has to be considered a negative for Orton’s value. Regardless, though, Orton’s passing numbers have been so good that he moves up four spots to ninth among quarterbacks for the remainder of the season. Tebow also moves up to 31st among quarterbacks.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Troy Smith is the biggest riser this week as he shoots up eight spots to 26th among quarterbacks. Though he has only started two games this season, the 49ers are 2-0 under his leadership and Smith has done an excellent job protecting the football, throwing for over 550 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions so far.
The Dolphins quarterback situation became more of a disaster on Thursday night when Tyler Thigpen looked absolutely horrible in the team’s 16-0 loss to the Chicago Bears. Thigpen played in replacement of the injured Chad Henne and Chad Pennington who was placed on IR earlier this week. Many thought that Thigpen’s mobility could lead to increased opportunities for other players in the offense, but it was not to be—expect the Dolphins to go back to Chad Henne as soon as possible. Henne’s value rises slightly to 30th overall while Thigpen sits at 36th.
With Mike Vick’s dominant performance on Monday night, it appears very unlikely that Kevin Kolb will be given a chance to start for the Eagles again this season, barring an injury to the potential MVP candidate. Still, Kolb may be the best backup quarterback in the league and Vick’s wild style of play leaves him open to the type of injury that kept him out of a few games earlier this season. Vick moves up a spot to fourth among QB’s while Kolb drops a couple spots to 34th.
