The move everyone had been waiting on for so long has finally come and gone: LeBron has moved on from Cleveland, heading down to South Beach to join the Miami Heat. The biggest move of free agency has finally been accomplished.
LeBron James has attempted to edge closer to an NBA Championship by choosing to sign with the Miami Heat. He now joins fellow superstar Chris Bosh and an already Miami Heat superstar in Dwyane Wade.
The Heat have played their hand well. They have been a contender for LeBron for a while, but they also reeled in LeBron by using their biggest trump cards: the re-signing of Wade, and the addition of Bosh from the Raptors.
This automatically makes James more comfortable. Wade and Bosh provide the support and help the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to retrieve for him.
The shoe fits better in Miami than New York due to a lack of pieces from New York. They inked a big-time player in Stoudemire, but still need more if they wish to compete, so New York's lack to bring in another star player to advertise with Stoudemire didn't help their case with inking LeBron.
Chicago posed a better choice. A young, up and coming point guard in Derrick Rose, and the team providing decent supporting roles and the signing of Boozer from the Jazz gave most a very convincing case for a LeBron move to Chicago.
But then, why not Chicago? I believe this could possibly be the bigger attraction of Wade-Bosh, who have more of an immediate impact than the Bulls might, for they would be better geared to compete later rather than sooner, and LeBron wants it sooner.
The shoe also fits best in Miami for the opportunity it brings for these trio of Kings Wade, Bosh, and James to come together. These days, championships are decided by more than one player.
A prime example includes the Boston Celtics. The impact of the Big Three (Allen, Pierce, Garnett) in 2007 is a huge part of their championship, as well as good management.
The shoe in Cleveland became too small for LeBron, who has looked a little farther past money and the regular season for a shot at the NBA Title that has managed to elude him and his former team.
Management has also been a factor in LeBron's decision; his lack of help and production from other players besides himself made the Cleveland shoe shrink even faster.
Now, LeBron has a new shoe, and is finding that this shoe brings opportunity to jump higher towards his championship dream.
With the inking of LeBron, the trio is complete. In Miami, there are three elite faces in town, a new era has begun.. The Era of Three Kings.
