LeBron James: 'Miami Thrice' Will Never Win a Ring

Bold? Indeed. Stupid? Maybe.

My reasoning: you don't get the sweet without the sour. You just don't. If it's too good to be true, then it is not true. Get-rich quick schemes don't work out. Lottery winners end up face down in their own puke three years later. Accomplishment is like a diamond. It only forms out of intense pressure over time.

Hard as we try and long as we hope, we can't get around that fact. People always try to cut corners and attempt to gain the sweetness of victory without the sour of defeat. Life smacks these people down with ferocity.

The reason you can't get accomplishment without the pain and loss is because accomplishment requires character and persistence that is only learned through hands-on failure and frustration. Chris Bosh and LeBron James don't know a thing about it.

Bosh has never been in a position to have everything on the line and one shot to win it. LeBron James has shied away from those moments.

James has had a sheltered career. Touted as the chosen one in Ohio he was protected and insulated. He was the first pick of the draft and stayed home. Rookie of the year. MVP awards. They came before he earned them. Losing was not fathomable. Then expectation caught up with him in 2009 and 2010. He failed miserably both times and at the sight of a little pain and a little failure he bailed for the path of least resistance.

I'll say it again, that never works. NEVER.

This is a team of least resistance. When the going gets tough, and it will get tough no matter what, where do they turn in moments where real champions can dig down in their experiences and find hope and resolve?

Nowhere.

The Bulls had to go through the Pistons after years of losing to them and being humiliated. Pistons had to go through years of watching the Celtics and Lakers celebrate on their floor. The Lakers and Celtics fought balls-to-the-wall against each other risking everything and losing everything in a given year.

There is no furnace here. This Heat team didn't go through the fire of defeat and get purified. They went through the drive-thru and and picked up the insta-dream team meal. But all it comes with is a cheap plastic toy. No rings will be found. There will be no shelter here.

This team is hollow. A paper tiger. An empty trojan horse. Fugazi. Pick your word. They're a fraud masquerading as a powerhouse.

I don't expect anyone to believe me. I expect mockery. I expect talk of how I'm saying this before they get a team around them.

Keep in mind. Anyone rushing to join this mirage shows the same bad judgment of LeBron and Bosh. They are looking for a quick fix and an easy win.

There is no such thing as easy wins in the NBA Finals. There is no such thing as easy playoff victories. This is snake oil they are selling in Miami. I'm convinced of it
