Greg Oden Has To Prove His Value to the Blazers This Season

One of the top 10 centers in the NBA, the former No. 1 pick from the 2007 NBA Draft, Greg Oden, has to prove why Kevin Pritchard (recently fired) chose him.

He was drafted out of luxury and for the need of solid defender from the center position. He was picked as the best center from that class. Injuries have slowed him in the couple of seasons, but that's a thing he will overcome.

Greg has major potential to be one of the outstanding big men in the next decade, and in order to do that he needs to start consistently make a name in positive sense for himself.

Last season, he showed major improvement in all of the key areas such as defense, rebounding, low post moves, put work into the muscles, and so on. He was in the five M.I.P (Most Improved Player) race.

He was so dominant and ranked among the five most productive players in the league thanks to playing the max in just 23.9 minutes per game. He was the league leader in categories such as blocks, shots per game, field goal percentage, defensive rating, blocks, rebound percentage, etc.

What should we expect from him next season

A strong return.  I personally believe that he will return in shape, more skilled, and better overall. Believe in his hype before he even started his first NBA game.

He will average double-double with 15 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and three blocks per game because he has the desire to prove himself and play to his major potential.

Expect from Oden to be in the talks of the best defensive player, center, shot blocker, rebounder, and overall center. With Camby as his mentor, I think he will do great and be a dominant big man next season, and will be one of the biggest factors for the Portland Trail Blazers.
