NBA Trade Rumors: Possible Moves for Rudy Fernandez
The Portland Trail Blazers are now officially shopping Rudy Fernandez around. The Spaniard who started last season as a fan favorite and one of the few untouchable players on the roster has fallen out of favor with the franchise after problems with his role.
There seem to be quite a lot of teams who are interested in trading for Rudy Fernandez because he is still on his rookie contract, so he will be cheap (1.25 million next season).
I will try and keep you updated to all the rumored trades he might be involved in. So let's start!
Rudy Fernandez to New York
This is one of the first trades that has surfaced on the Internet. The Knicks can only offer players, since their only draft picks are 38th and 39th and those won't interest the Blazers too much.
Any trade between these two teams would have to have Toney Douglas and/or Wilson Chandler involved because they are two of the few useful players on the Knicks roster that the Blazers can target. Danilo Gallinari seems to be untouchable right now.
Rudy Fernandez to Chicago
This trade is a lot more straightforward. The Bulls have offered the Blazers their 17th pick in the draft for Rudy Fernandez. The Blazers are rumored to be trying to move up in the draft, so this might work out.
Rudy Fernandez to Toronto
The Raptors are seemingly the most interested team looking to trade for Rudy Fernandez. This is primarily because they lack scoring guards on their roster.
The Raptors have reportedly offered their 13th pick in the draft as a package deal. This would make the Chicago trade less interesting for the Blazers, as they could move higher with this trade. The Raptors might send Jose Calderon in the deal as well.
Rudy Fernandez to Washington
The Blazers have already turned this one down, but I just wanted to mention it. The Wizards offered Nick Young to the Blazers for Rudy Fernandez but were rejected pretty quickly.
