Washington Wizards Debate: Gilbert Arenas or John Wall
John Wall is considered a unanimous number oneย pick in NBAย mock drafts. Since it is a foregone conclusion that Wall will be drafted number one, I have decided to discuss one of the more interesting position battles: Gilbert Arenas vs. Johnย Wall assuming that Wall is drafted by the Wizards.
This will be a good battle between what many draft experts consider the next phenom in John Wall and a declining but nonetheless still decent veteran in Gilbert Arenas.
Arenas has a reputation of performing well in the clutch, which is one factor that John Wall does not excel at.

Rivers Challenges Draymond ๐จ

1 Immediate Thing Every Team Would Do In FA ๐
When Kentucky was playing South Carolina, they were down by five points with two minutes left in the secondnd half. Wall missed a key reverse layup that would have put them in within three points. Instead, a red hot Devan Downey put the nail in the coffin with a two pointer with one minute to go. Kentucky eventually lost 68-62.
However, Wall does have an ability to score quickly, similarly to Arenas. But one thing that could nail Wall in the long run is his criminal activity. Wall was arrested in high school for breaking and entering.
Arenas in no stranger to the law as well, as he was sentenced to 30 days in a halfway house in February.
If Wall stays out of trouble, he could be the key to Washington's success.
Overall, John Wall has all the tools to be an elite point guard inย the NBA and with decent coaching, he could improve his clutch shooting dramatically.
I think Arenas' age and contract issues will be his downfall and he will eventually lose his starting job to John Wall.
